Medieval Times with a toddler?

We were thinking about going to the Medieval Times dinner show on our trip in December. I've been before and generally enjoy it, and hubby has never been. I don't actually think it's worth the price, but with BOGO coupons it's not bad. That being said, we will have our 2yo son and their website says that "lap children" under 3 are free. I have no problem with him eating off our plates but can't deal with him having to sit in my lap! Does anyone know if they really enforce this lap child thing? Paying $35 for him to eat 2 bites of chicken and a roll is out of the question.

I recently went with my family and our nieces and my daughter was 22 months old. It was really, really hard. I spent most of the show in the lobby chasing her around. She wouldn't stay on my lap. There were no extra seats for her, and even if there had been, I don't think she would have stayed sitting for the 2+ hours of the show. I'm hoping we don't have to go back there until she's at least 4! But every kid is different.

I think each of our kids have been to MT as a toddler. Each child is different, but mine loved watching the show. We had seats for ours though. We also sit Royal so we have a flag for them to wave.

We went last year, and our son was 2 at the time. (He turned 3 a month after)

There was plenty of room, so he would sit on our lap at times, sit at times, or stand on the seating area at times so he could see.
