My mother is coming with us in December on her first trip to Disney World. She hasn't flown in a long time and is wondering if all her pills need to be in prescription bottles. She wants to put all the pills she needs for one day in a container and carry 8 containers for the 8 days. Can she do this? If she can't, she will have to bring 20 bottles. What do others do in this situation.
Thanks,
Kerianne

I put mine in a pill organizer box. On our first trip after 9/11, I heard you had to bring the bottles so I did, but asked at the checkpoint and they said it wasn't necessary. Does she get slips from the pharmacy showing what they are (like with side effects, etc)? That may be easier to carry.

Thanks. That's a good idea. She can bring her pill organizer and then just bring the slips from the pharmacy.

You need original containers and copies of the scrips if you are crossing int'l borders, not for TSA security, but for Customs. The point of it is to prove that the drugs are prescribed for personal use, and how many you will need for the length of your stay.

If she is flying domestically, it is not necessary.
