My husband uses medical marijuana. We are from Canada.

He has a legal prescription.

Anyone know if this is going to be a problem to travel with or bring to Disney?

He uses a vapourizer.

It is not something he would do in the Parks. But something he would use at the on-site resort. Likely only before bed as he does at home.

If this is not a problem, would he need to use the smoking-areas? We are non-smokers and this is still all new to us!

Never mind - I found out it is still illegal in the state of Florida. Florida needs to get with the times. LOL.

FL just voted 4 years ago I think to make it legal and it did not go thought I do not think it will be an option this year but time will tell.

Also, as it's federally illegal still, traveling with it would be an issue.

Sorry, OP, but he wouldn't make it past Customs, never mind at WDW.

it is illegal on the federal level so he cannot bring it into the country at all. and no way does Disney allow it on their property.

Yea, as others have said, not legal in FL yet. Ugh. Also, anyone outside the US, keep this in mind: Our legal system is fairly stupid. We have two levels - state and federal. Federal trumps state in all cases. So, even if something is legal in a state (like weed is legal in Ohio) you could still get in trouble with federal law enforcement - like at the airport - as it is not legal federally.

Also I believe even though it is legal in CA they do not allow it in non-smoking areas. Therefore you have to be in a smoking section. I believe in Disneyland it is usually suggest to use edibles if you need it on a regular basis since smoking it is not convenient for medical use there and it is less conspicuous.

At FL it doesn't matter as it is illegal and the last thing you want to do is get caught.

So, even if something is legal in a state (like weed is legal in Ohio)

Smoking it is still not legal in Ohio. The ballot issue that would have made it legal was voted down, rightfully so given all the baggage that was attached to it. The legislation passed recently to approve medical marijuana only allows it in vapor form, not to be smoked. So it's not even that easy to just say legal versus illegal on a state level.
