I should be on TV December 1 on Discovery Channel on Weed Wars. After getting permission from my church leader & fervent prayer, I started a regimen of medical cannabis (aka marijuana). It works great on my horribly painful leg cramps, helps me take in enough oral food to prevent damage caused by TPN (IV nutrition,) and helps me sleep & treat my Nightmare Disorder. I don't get a high or any altered consciousness or personality changes. I think it should be allowed as medicine everywhere. I thought I was a good stereotype breaker so check out Weed Wars December 1 on Discovery Channel :) Might see me :) It is a series (miniseries??) so I might be on a later episode.

BTW, I have an official prescription and it's legal in CA medicinally.

It's really no different than taking any other controlled drug, except it illegal almost everywhere:hippie:.

I am glad you found relief for whatever condition you are dealing with. No one should suffer if there is a medication that can help lessen the suffering.

I wish you the best!!!

Not really. Everywhere, not so much.

Don't justify. So thankful for you that it helps and it's legal where you live.:thumbsup2 I will be on the lookout for the episode! :)

I'm glad you've found relief from your symptoms. Personally, I feel that marijuana should be legalized and regulated (would be a big financial boost to the economy). I have no problem with people who need it medicinally (knew someone who used it during chemo).

My sister's MIL is on TPN, however she is dying of cancer.

I am glad you found some relief for your issues. I will look for the series.:hug::hug::hug::hug:

I was recently very sick, almost died, and was on TPN for 7 months. It is not a good thing. When you are that sick you beg for anything that will help you.
Bless you and I am glad you found something that helps,

Well......I'm in California too....and I'm not sure that statement is totally true.
True voters passed Prop 215 to legalize medical marijuana in California , but the Federal Government has made it clear it is still a federal crime and they have been cracking down. The Justice Department under President's Bush and now President Obama feel it is still an illegal drug.

Complicating the issue, Prop 215 required medical marijuana dispensories to be non-profit operations, and apparently a lot of them are not, so state officials
Most in the Sacramento area have closed in the past 6 months.

tvguy-it's still legal. I just asked @ harborside & got my prescription renewed. the series is about the conflict between state and federal rules.

I'm glad you got relief too. I'm actually surprised its not legal and controlled by our government :goodvibes.

Glad it's working for you. I know many people abuse the ability to get it by prescription (just as many people abuse the ability to get prescription pain meds) and this makes it more difficult for people who really do get a medical benefit from it.

No need to defend yourself. There are many medications that are even opiate based. For example, Morphine.

I dont condone the use for fun, but marijuana has some applications that are quite helpful. I wish my mom would roll a doobie. Maybe she would eat more....

Medical Marijuana has its uses and should be legalized as a medication, and distributed accordingly.

Yep. I don't want it legalized for sale on the street but don't see any rational reason why it isn't in a pharmacy behind the counter available by prescription like any other drug. Many of those drugs are far more harmful than marijuana.

Unfortunetly all it takes to be "legal" and get a "medical card" is the $100 bucks to pay the so-called doctor to give it to you.

I live in a community with a lot of "pot culture" and it drives me crazy. I have no problem with someone smoking pot be it for medical or recreational I do have a problem with those who flaunt their "legal status" and do nothing but smoke and talk about smoking it all day.

And in the end as TVGuy said since the Feds still say it is illegal it is still illegal since Federal Goverment superscedes State governement.

What is to say those docs arent "prescribing" othe drugs?

This isnt an issue with "pot". This is an issue with a Doctor.

The same thing happens with pain medication. There was an article in Men's Health not too long ago about how terrible pain management clinics are and how they just push pills out that ultimately kill a lot of people. They dealt with the problem by raiding and shutting down the clinics.

As for the bolded, the founding fathers put the 10th amendment into the constitution for a reason. It is the most underused of all the amendments in my opinion.

There is nothing saying that these doctors aren't prescribing other (legal) drugs. I do know, at least in my area, there are "special" doctors/clinics that one goes to to get their "card."
Like I said I have no issue with pot it is the pot culture that I have a problem with. And yes I agree that it is the doctors who will give out a "pot card" to anyone with the money.

Whilst dead set against recreational usage of illicit drugs, medical applications I have no problem with. Not even ecstasy - yes, there are medical uses for it.

If those "legal" drugs are prescribed without need, theyre "illegal"

Are you aware that Cocaine can be prescribed?
