medical insurance?! :(

so i've been soooo excited about applying for the WDWCP... and while looking through a binder all about the program, I just discovered that they require proof of medical insurance. My parents and I BOTH do not have any health insurance!! :'( I want to cry!! Am i completely out of luck here and unable to do the program?

I've never heard of that before, and they haven't checked to see if I have it.

That seems strange. I don't think it is legal to not "hire" someone because they
do not have health insurance. I would look into that.


Can you apply for health insurance.. look into Humana one!

I think the only proof of insurance you need is car insurance IF you bring a car.

If they do require proof of health insurance that is a new requirement.

My DS will be arriving Aug. 9 for the CP and in all of his "papers" there is no mention of this. Hope someone will some more knowledge can inform us?

I arrive 8/11 and there has been no mention of a requirement of health insurance. They do not provide insurance to CPs, so if you want coverage, look into it before you go. Car insurance on the other hand, is required and you must be on the policy and be able to provide proof of that

maybe this is just for the international college programme as my dd who is out their now and from the uk did have to show that she had med cover and that it covered her for work and for the full amount of time she was their ( just 3 months ) but i have read that the people who go out for 12 mnths from the uk have to buy it for the first 3-4 months then they get it through disney - hope this helps

Okay I've found the answer by talking to a state representative of the WDWCP. and you do NOT need to show proof of medical insurance! Yay! They just state that so that you will know that Disney will NOT be applying any type of medical insurance for you. Thank you everybody for your input!
