Well, I booked our airline tickets with West Jet this morning. Bit the bullet and forked over the money ($474.55 each) for our December dates.

Now I have to find medical insurance for my dad. CAA wouldn't cover him last time we went (two years ago) and we ended up with, I think, Thomas Cook. Are there any other companies out there who will cover somebody 72 years old who has had heart surgery (in 1992).

I guess I should really ask... any recommendations? I can probably find some but wouldn't know if they were any good.

Our CAA office does not ask any medical questions if it is only temp. med coverage for number of days-non-CAA member- but it is expensive.

Age 81 and age 75 for 10 days coverage was just over $483.

Call a Travel Agent that sells RBC or go to rbcinsurance.com to find your nearest agency.

They can sell you the package that will cover him as long as he has been stable in the past 90 days. He does not have to fill out a questionnaire. He can buy the package with zero cancellation coverage to just have medical and interuption coverage.

He can also opt to fill out the medical questionnaire and qualify for medical only but I think the package with no questionnaire is the easiest.

Good Luck

Thanks for the info! I'll head over to the RBC site for more info.
