Medical Emergency two days before our trip

My dad had a seizure at Disney halfway through our day at AK. He had to be transported to the hospital and the whole family left the park to go too. My sister managed to get Disney to refund all of our tickets for that day, even though we'd been at the park for half the day. She did have to push a little bit, sometimes you have to be pretty persistent.

11 years ago my father died unexpectedly the day before we were to check in at the Contemporary for the Halloween Party. My first call was to my travel agent. She contacted Disney and they refunded our room only and party tickets. At that time we had AP's so that was no problem. They could not have been kinder. We rebooked the trip for a later date and even upgraded to tower with the money saved from the party tickets.

Well, first off, best wishes for a speedy recovery for your husband! I went though some issues right before our trip this past summer, wasn't at all sure I was going to make it, then wound up in the hospital in Celebration. Thank goodness, all turned out ok. I will just echo what others have said, call again, speak with guest services. Disney can, and should do better than what you were offered the first time you called.

We got extraordinarily lucky and my husband was able to get out of the hospital last night. The doctors gave him the all clear and we actually are on the plane right now. I can't tell you how relieved we are that he is healthy and we're able to enjoy our vacation.
