I tried looking on their website but was unable to find the information. I have diabetes and have a tendency to drop low (40s-50s). I find I have more problems when being active like in a theme park. I know that Universal does not let you take bags in a most lines, or they didn't the last time I was there. At Six Flags, I was able to get a medical sticker for my bag so I could take it in line with me, that way I had access to my meter and glucose tabs if I needed it while in line. Does Universal do something similar?

I don't know, but I think the reason is that they have some more wild rides and don't have a place to put bags.
I wonder if a fanny pack would work and be small enough that it would not be a problem?

Many of the rides have similar dynamics as the ones at Disney, although they do have some inverted. Our park has rides with similar dynamics and guests are allowed to bring the bags into lines with them, just not on the rides. And that's fine with me. Universal will not let you have fanny packs, at least, not when I was there. You have to leave those in the locker as well.

Do you really need a bag? My One Touch Ultra Mini will fit in a pocket. In the other pocket fits a tube of glucose tabs. I don't carry them all the time now but when I was on insulin I did sometimes drop extremely low very quickly. Then I carried my meter and tabs with me at all times even if I left the rest of my supplies with my husband. But I didnt' want to carry anymore than I had to. Pockets are wonderful!

They don't fit in my pockets, and the case has a velcro strap for the belt. I've had it fall off before which makes me very nervous to take it with me on rides. Also, for all day touring the theme parks, I carry the big jar to be safe. Sometimes it takes me multiple times to treat the low which means that I can use up a whole tube very quickly.

I do have a security waste pouch that my meter and a small tube will fit in, but again, the last tiem I was there not even those were allowed.

If you were allowed to bring that stuff in line, but not on the ride itself, what would you do with your bag while you were on the ride? Would there even be an employee available to keep an eye on it for you, or would that be impossible? I'd be worried that the bag would be taken, or that an employee would be negligent and cause some problem.

My husband takes his stuff in a backpack, but I don't ride the rides so I'm the designated backpack holder.

He brings his meter, gluco tabs and syringes filled with enough insulin for the day. No one has ever denied the backpack of "stuff" access to the park. He also takes a few lo carb snacks.

Once when he was on the pump he had to disconnect to get on the ride.

You can not take any loose bags (even small cross body bags) onto some of the Universal rides, but you can take a fanny pack. I saw several when I was in line for Forbidden Journey, Men in Black, and Mummy the first week of Sept, the second week of Oct, and again when I was there last week. I myelf wore one on all three of those rides in Sept. I believe the other rides that don't allow loose bags are Hulk, Dueling Dragons, and Rip Ride Rocket. They do allow fanny packs though. My husband rode them in Oct and as I was waiting for him, I saw several people getting off wearing them.
