This isn't really budget related but I didn't know where else to post

My parents live outside of Pittsburgh, PA and I am looking into getting them a medical alert system. (Particularly for my mom.) I looked on line and am totally confused. Even looking at reviews it looks as though many companies make it look like legitimate reviews but then one company stands out as NUMBER ONE which makes me think the review is not quite so legitimate.

Can anyone recommend a good medical alert system. I want something where my mom can here them call back and that the station reaches at least 600 feet.

I am considering LifeLine or Rescue Alert but don't really know if they are the best.

Thank you.

Call the local hospital or Visiting nurses and ask them. My Mom has one and it operates thru the local hospital. I think it costs her like $25 a month. She has multiple health issues and frankly I thought it was a waste of money until she ha to use it twice in the last month. Now I think it is a lifesaver (because it likely did save her life both times she used it).

Does she have a home alarm system? I have my moms through our alarm system.

My mother has had her Life Line for a few years now. She's 88 and up until 6 months ago lived alone so she really needed something. We have no complaints with the system. There is a base unit downstairs where she spends most of her time, but the signal is strong enough to reach her upstairs bedroom on the other side of the house. She wears a button on a cord around her neck. I know they now have braclets too. In the past, she has had to push the button a few times, and they have notified me and EMS within seconds. They also require a test of the system once a month. It does take some getting use to hearing a "voice from no where" calling you! All in all we are satisfied. We pay $39/mo. but I know it's gone up quite a bit.

My MIL has gotten Life Alert recently and they have been fine too. She's fallen a few times and they did exactly what they are supposed to do. I do know she pays $29/mo. No compaints with this company either.
