Med Cruise VAT

No, we were not charged a VAT on the 12-night British Isles cruise this summer.

That's good to hear...we are thinking of doing this cruise next summer.

We just returned from the 12 night Med cruise and we were charged VAT in the shops, since we didn't visit any countries outside of the EU. (I think it was about 20%.) I didn't check exactly, since we live in the EU, and don't have any plans to return to the US within 90 days.

We didn't have any extra charge for drinks, because it was already added to the price on the menu. I don't think the prices were much higher than we have paid on previous cruises that didn't have VAT.
