Mears Shuttle

Although we'll be driving, we are meeting others who are flying to Orlando. We are all staying at the All Stars in June. How does the shuttle work, do you have to book it in advance or is it continuously running? Also, how much is it per person? Thanks!

Advantages:

. Mears' shuttle is the easiest to find at Orlando Airport

. Runs essentially continuously from at least 7 AM to 10 PM daily.

. No reservation needed at airport. (reservation needed for return)

Disadvantages:

. Makes lots of stops at different hotels both coming and going, plan on leaving Disney 3-1/2 hours before flight home.

. Need to wait at airport until the van or bus is reasonably full.

Price:

. Last time I checked, $25. per person round trip, $22. with a coupon Disney often includes with your resort reservation confirmation.

Recommendation:

. For a party of four or more, consider other services. Mears does offer a private "towncar" service also.

. If you have a car you might want to go to the airport to pick up your party. However be aware that many building support columns, waiting benches, and even baggage carousels look alike. Arranging a precise outdoor rendezvous point is therefore not easy. If you are picking up your party on a drive-by and see them, stop. Then if a policeman tells you you have to move on, point to the people you are picking up and ask him to shoo away one of the double parked cars with driver inside doing nothing so you can immediately take that space.

Thanks for all the info. We already have 3 kids in the car so picking them up would be a tight squeeze. Although the shuttle is cheaper, I'm guessing they're going to prefer the towncar. Thanks again!

Another option is Yellow Cab. They are also owned by the Mears co. No waiting and you go whenever you want. It was great!!
