Just wanted to put in a positive word for Mears.
I have become spoiled with towncars on a couple of recent trips...and while I do like the idea of not being piled in a van and waiting for other passengers or dropping off people at multiple locations, I did have a fine experience with the Mears shuttle this past trip. We chose the shuttle for the price (mostly), and because there were two of us arriving on one day, and our departure dates were different. So a towncar just didn't make sense.
We got our Mears tickets quickly at the self-serve kiosk at the counter...it is so easy with the barcode you print out with your receipt if you reserve/pay for your trip ahead of time.
Waited about 15 min. for our shuttle. We ended up with people who were not staying on WDW property, but were lucky enough to be the first dropped off at CBR! Excellent.
Don't know how smooth the pick-up was for my travelling bud, but I arrived to the lobby in plenty of time (I've been left by Mears before), and the driver pulled up about 10 min. before the scheduled time. He made sure all his scheduled passengers were accounted for (filled the van with CBR guests), and we left on time. Made our way to the airport quickly and effiiciently.
I was happy. And yes, I tipped him.
