MeanLaureen's Useless Poll of the Day - Monday

"What is your favorite Carnival/Fair food?"

  • Cotton Candy

  • Candy/Caramel Apples

  • Elephant Ears

  • Funnel Cakes

  • Big old swirly Lollipops

  • Hotdogs/corndogs

  • Sausage with onions, peppers, etc

  • Stuff that should have never been fried like Twinkies, Oreos etc

  • Big soft pretzels

  • Glazed Nuts - like Cinnamon Roasted Almonds

  • Kettle Corn

  • Other, please post - or my arteries are hardening just looking at this list - I hate fair food!

Results are only viewable after voting.
Ok, I did some quick calculations and if we can somehow swing the corndog voters to move to Cotton Candy we can seal a victory. So Corn Doggers let me give you a little background on my candidate. Cotton Candy is much lower in fat content while still providing a rich flavor. Furthermore, I know how much you like the whole stick concept so guess what? Cotton Candy has a stick too! So you see, we are not so much different. And I promise, if Cotton Candy wins this election I will make sure and appoint at least one Corn Dog to my cabinet giving them full voting rights. What do you say? Are you with me?

Jeff

Sorry, I never eat cotton candy. I can have just a couple bites of it before the sweetness gets to me.

I do love funnel cakes, but my vote went to "other" since you mentioned fair food. The MN State Fair is all about food on a stick, and my favorite is Porky's pork chop on a stick, but unfortunately, they are no longer at the fair due to a dispute with the fair mgmt. :(

There's also the scotch egg, which is a hardboiled egg, wrapped in sausage and served on a stick. They have ranch dressing for dipping sauce. Sounds really weird, but it has become our staple fair breakfast food.

Right after that are cheese curds (definitely a dairy-country specialty), cream puffs and roasted corn on the cob.

Is it fair time yet??? :p

A Karen, that little boy in your picture is just dying for some Cotton Candy! You can't deprive the children from its rich goodness. Please I beg of you, let the kids have some spun sugar.

Jeff

A large sausage sandwich with onions and peppers and a cold beer to wash it down....:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

PLEASE people... I am begging you!! VOTE COTTON CANDY or I might not get any sleep tonight!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Nothing better than cotton candy but please, folks.. be sure to wear your safety glasses!

Oh Funnel Cake, why are you mocking me? You are a mocking evil mocker bent on destroying all that is good in fair food! You are my white whale and I am your Ishmael! (Incidently, I heard that they actually use whale oil to cook funnel cakes while Cotton Candy is whale and dolphin safe, think about it).

Sorry ML, had to go with Sausage with peppers/onions & sauce.

Nothing is better at the county fair than peeling the yummy caramel off your apple. :D Ok... maybe I missed the apple part of it.

LOL - there is definitely some truth to that... he's always dying for cotton candy. He always wants that and a hotdog at every Twins game. :)

I'd be a bigger fan of cotton candy if you could get it in little sandwich-sized bags. That's be the right amount for me.

Voted for "other" - Belgian waffles (aka, sugar waffles)

Oh no! Not Belgian waffles! You know they are not really from Belgium don't you? They have gotten you in the oldest midway con in the world.

Please folks remember, "Friends don't let friends eat anything but Cotton Candy."

Jeff

<font color=navy>I voted :)

Don't hate me, Jeff--- though your posts have made me laugh all day .... I did not vote for cotton candy. :sunny:

I voted for a caramel apple; dipped in peanuts please!

Funnel cakes in a close second, although I just cannot even imagine eating one right now as I am in Weight Watchers mode....maybe if I split one like 9 ways with friends!
