Happy Monday everyone!
So how did everyone's weekend go?
Mine was okay I guess. Brought my mom home for the day and made her a nice lunch. My brother and his family showed up for a whopping hour and a half before they left. Baseball game. Their world revolves around baseball games. Even with their mom in a rehab hospital - can't help take her to an appointment because one of the kids has a game
Then (to me) tragedy struck. My daddy parakeet - the one that fathered the 9 babies, died suddenly with no warning. We found him laying in the bottom of the cage barely moving. I held him for the longest time and finally put him in the bottom of a seperate cage where he died a few minutes later
. He had an odd sore on his back that wasn't there the day before. Upon inspection of the other birds in the cage, all the babies had the same sore spot - except momma bird. Not sure if momma is beating the other birds up or not - so we isolated her to a seperate cage to be sure she isn't getting mean. Then my favorite baby - PeeWee - so much tinier than the others but has been fiesty and clung to life, started taking a turn for the worst He's isolated into a cage on his own so he won't be picked on. I hope Momma bird didn't hurt him
