Good morning everyone

Hope everyone had a great weekend and that all the fathers out there had a fantastic Father's Day.

Matt and I went shopping yesterday and then went to see the movie "Dodgeball". I didn't have high expectations because it looked like it was a cheesy movie but I have to say that I enjoyed it and laughed quite a bit. It's no Shrek but it's good :)

On that thought, you question of the day is..

"What was your favorite playground activity as a kid?"

Kick Ball - but I also loved stick ball.

we would have huge neighborhood kick-ball games and now 30 years later my kids are doing the same thing!! It must be a timeless game....LOL

I loved capture the flag and California kickball. California kickball was just like regulare kickball, but you could run the bases unlimited until they tagged you out..it was fun because you may have had like 15 people all running to the same bases!!

I didn't socialize with other children that much and when I did we just talked.

Do they still play British Bulldog? I've still go the scar on my knee.

I don't even remember the rules... I remember forming a line, then running across the playground, trying to capture (usually tackle) others coming at us from the other side.

Kick ball, I still have scars on my knees from falling on the cement.

jump rope would be second and hopscotch would be third.

I really did not have any friends in grammer school, but here is what I liked at home...
My favorite was "Mother May I" followed close to something we called "Statue Maker." I also loved to play "Ghost in the Graveyard", "Kick the Can" and "Bloody Mary" in the summers.

Paper, scissors, rock. A game I learned in Japan as a child and then found out it was a US game as well. Also liked jump rope and hopscotch.

Our neighborhood kickball games were like a religion. If you didn't have your sorry butt to the end of the street for the daily kickball game by 10 AM - you got stuck being the ball retriever.:p

Jump rope would be number one. But I also liked hopscotch, red rover, Simon says, and Chinka China. LOL! :)

Kickball

I did want to say though, my kids are both in 6th grade and they play dodgeball in gym all the time. They have since they started school actually.
