Happy Friday everyone! It's another chilly morning here in the city of the monuments - 17 degrees. But I'm sure you NE'ers and thinking that would be pretty balmy right now!!

Here is your question of the day!

"What is your favorite salad ingredient?"

I voted for lettuce! because you really can't call it salad without lettuce! oh and....i like croutons too!! and make mine extra crunchy! :teeth:

Well, I voted for Olives, I love Black Olives, but I love most everything else onthe list, except tomatoes and hot peppers.

Hey Von, we are neighbors! I moved back home, just north of you!

I put tomamatos, but onions is close second

I voted for carrots. I was going to say grated cheese but I love carrots.

Lots of nice crisp iceberg lettuce with cheese, carrots, sprouts, tomatoes, and those cruncy Chinese noodles.

Lettuce. That's all I like in my salads......:D

I picked lettuce as I have lettuce only salads a lot.

My ideal salad is lettuce, carrots and croutons. I'm a plain Jane!

I rarely eat salads and when I do, the lettuce has to to be fresh and crispy.

My dislike for salads stems from my Navy days in the Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club. I was on an aircraft carrier and just about all our food was great. It was considerably better than other ships I had been on. I had to do the usual rotation as a "mess cook," which was a three month assignment working with the cooks (sort of a formal 'KP"). I was assigned to the "spud locker" where machines actually did all the potato peeling and cutting, but we also made all the slads and dressings. We would get crates of lettuce and have to work through a lot of rotten leaves to get a softball-size piece that wasn't rotten. It took a whole crate to make one pan of tossed salad.

Ever since 1966, I haven't had much of an appetite for lettuce :(

Can't believe you didn't list cucumbers!

The only salad I eat is fruit salad. I have never liked lettuce or any of the other stuff that goes into a salad.

Tomatoes!

Especially fresh from the garden. Marinate them in olive oil, a little vinegar and lots of chopped fresh garlic. Tastes great but it leaves your breath wicked!

Shredded cheese! :teeth: I don't like tomatoes.
