Just back from our spontaneous trip to DLP (booked Weds went Saturday!).

It was fab and a complete surprise for our 7 year old twins. We needed a bit of de-stressing and it was fab and did the trick!

One disappointing event though - My fault I know but about half an hour after arriving in the Park, I went to the loo (the ones near the ice cream parlour & Pizzeria) and hung my camera on the back of the door (silver camera, silver door - you can see what's coming can't you?!). yes, I left the camera on the door & went back to meet my family. About 5 minutes later DH asked for the camera. Realising what I had done I ran back to the loo to find that camera had gone. Still, this is Disney I thought, someone will have handed it in. Wrong!! I filled out the form at City Hall I went back in twice a day but it never showed up!

I hope the person who took it felt some pang of guilt when they saw the pictures of my children dancing with Pluto in the Foyer of the New York (it was a digital camera). Ironically, it was the camera that we had had to buy on our last Disney Trip as the lens on the new one we had for that trip got broken!

I know that if I had been the person going into the loo and finding a camera I would have handed it in to a cast member - what bad luck for me it had to be a mean minded person with no Disney Spirit!

Feels better to have got it off my chest anyway!

:) :) :) :) :) :)

Oh Bundle :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: that is soooooooooooooooooo mean.:sad2:

I'm glad you still had a great time and that you didn't let it spoil your trip too much. :goodvibes Will you be able to claim on your insurance?

Oh that is horrible. As you say you can replace the camera but not the photos:grouphug: :grouphug:

Thanks Jackie & Ware Bears for your replies.

Re Insurance - I need to check our holiday cover but I know we're covered on our household insurance but we have an excess of £150 and as you say it won't bring the photos back.

As my lovely DH said 'we're all here and safe, we have the memories in our heads and the camera is only a 'thing'' . Really cross with myself though for being careless. If DH had lost the camera I bet I woulld have shouted at him :guilty:  !

Sounds like a good excuse to go back and re take the photos!

I can't imagine finding a camera and not handing it in - how do these people sleep???

What about holiday insurance - I would imagine the excess to be less than the £150 household insurance.

Hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip.

Janet

Exactly - how do they sleep?????????? Pity it wasn't you (or me!!) that went into the loo straight after me! I wonder if I was just really unlucky or are there more meanies out there than I realised?!

DH is going to look into the hol insurance today.

Anyway, still had a fab time and we were very lucky to be there in the first place!:)

I'm really sorry to hear about that, hope your insurance will cover it!

I'm glad you had a lovely time otherwise! :goodvibes

So does that mean you don't have pictures at all? Not even from such a "cheap" disposable–camera?
Oh no what a horror thought! :sad2:

But maybe it would help you if you write us a long long trip report. :lovestruc This could help not to forget your memories and impressions!

we did buy a couple of disposables and a few of the snaps have come out ok - alas no dancing with Pluto. Good idea about the trip report - I will try and make time (and see what I can remember - memory not so good in my old age!:) )

What a shame about your camera  How can anyone do something that mean?!?

Glad you had a great holiday apart from that though :goodvibes

We were there in Oct 06 and my friends 6 yo son left his new Stitch in the silver spur. We went back the next day and also to city hall, but he was never handed in. Bit of a shame really as we were the last ones out of the restaurant that night so we were sure a CM would find him and hand him in.

Had to buy a new one of course, but slightly bigger!

I Cant Believe How Horrible That Is Last Year In Epcot Wdw I Found A Bag Of Some Ones Disney Goodies And I Handed Them Cus I Would Hope Some One Do It If It Happened To Me :( Just Another Reason To Have To Go Back And Take Some More He He

That's really awful luck, the camera can be replaced but I'm really sorry about your lost photos. :sad2:

Glad that you managed to enjoy your time at DLRP despite the incident.

Thank you for all your lovely replies!

What a shame it wasn't one of you lot that found it because you're all really nice people and would have handed it in. :) :) :) :)

Well done to DH having the right attitude. I agree though no :wizard: for the horror who took your camera :confused3

Glad that you still had a great time :goodvibes

They sleep better as us!!!
Such people have no conscience at all.

We bother and care but sometimes I think were the last of the Mohicans as a Dutch saying goes.

This is horrible for you. I cant believe someone would not have handed it, even if they wanted to steal the camera for its worth what are the photos to them?

My friend went last Easter and got her purse stolen from her backpack around where the Labrinth maize is, £500 I dont know what possessed her to put £500 on her back, mine would have been shoved somewhere where no-one can find it or in a safety deposit box. That was bad, but a camera is worse I feel as it stores the memories.

Well its just an excuse to go back again and take more pictures? xx

Thanks again everyone - everyone's lovely replies has made the whole thing not so bad. Have ordered new camera which should arrive Monday so yes you're right we'll have to hurry back! Pity the children have to go to school which limits us a bit!

Happy Weekend to you all:)
