Mean Ebay guy!!

I wouldn't waste my time and energy on him. Just don't buy from him and see if you can either leave negative feedback or report him. If he's going to be a _____(fill in THIS blank), then let him. Give your time, energy and attention to those who deserve it.

Ignore it and move on. Negative energy will just generate more of the same. If you really want to confuse the idiots, reply with a super sweet thank you email....

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, have a great holiday season!

Then block his email. I wish email had auto return to sender w/ custom quotes, like "We're sorry, the user you are trying to reach thinks you're an idiot and dismisses your very extistance." :lmao:

Wow....that's some customer service.

I think I would respond with "thanks for the answer back. Sorry to hear that someone pissed in your wheaties today though. I will check out other sellers for this item. Thanks anyway!"

THAT is the reply to send to this guy!!! :rotfl2:

He certainly was rude, but I guess he was figuring why were looking up something that you had no idea what it was?

I just wouldn't respond to him, and not buy his product.

Boy. I hope he doesn't expect you to buy after an e-mail like that.

On the other hand, your message to him seems a little "abrupt," too. You probably could have worded your question a little nicer (a simple "please" can go a long way). It's no excuse for his nasty response, but maybe he thought you were rude first. (I don't think you *meant* to be rude, but I can see how it could have been taken that way... and intent is hard to determine over the internet.)

MTE. That doesn't excuse his rudeness to resort to name calling, though. Also not fair to post the email here with his user ID for all to see. JMO.

As a former ebay seller, I would not have been so rude, but directing you to Google was a good idea so you would at least KNOW what an item was for before you contemplated BIDDING on it.

It gets annoying when serious in-the-know buyers ask questions and then you look through your messages and find dopey, curt questions like yours, no offense.

Annoying or not, rudeness is not the answer. Sellers are in the customer service business and should conduct themselves appropriately. Unfortunately, you can only give negative feedback to sellers from whom you have purchased items.
You could try reporting him to ebay...doubt much will happen so unlikely worth your effort.

I too just had an unfortunate experience with a very rude seller on ebay! I usually have GREAT service, but when an item is described as "New with Tags" and it ISN"T, well, I'm going to email you (VERY POLITELY) and ask what can be done for me.
They rudely responded WE REFUSE TO PARTIALLY REFUND. DON"T YOU DARE USE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK AS AN EXTORTION TOOL!

It absolutely amazes me how furious sellers get when they feel they are "threatened" with negative feedback. Firstly, if an item is not as described and you are very rude to me, why SHOULDN'T I leave negative feedback? Feedback is a means of warning other buyers to be nervous about purchasing from this seller! The seller totally missed the point that I contacted him in the first place before leaving any kind of feedback so that he could make up his mistake! I didn't want to leave negative feedback without giving him a chance first! He totally missed that and just jumped down my throat. Some people...

I would have so much fun trying to fill out the worst possible feedback in the small space they provide. There are so many possiblities.

It would've been funnier, if he would've sent you a link from letmegooglethatforyou.com

At least then there would be some humor with his snarkiness.

I still cant believe he sent this to you even after I have read it several ties

You were rude first. Your question was very abrupt and I would have been put off, too.

However, he was rude as well. So I guess you are even?

on the plus side, the site he directed you to shows that it gets a 6.8 out of 10. Doesn't sound like that great of a product and that you need to be a bit tech-savvy to use it. I guess I would tell him thanks for the link and that helped decide against it.

It was a very rude response, however, if you are interested in buying something you should at least do some research to know what you are buying. It would have been a lot easier for you to google the info and get it instantly rather than wait for the seller to have to tell you what the item was.

Well it is a $3 item so you would expect lots of extra effort from the seller, especially after the question was asked so nicely :rotfl2:

I have to agree with the last few posters here - OP you were not kind in your initial message to them "explain how this works." - If I had been the seller I wouldn't have written you back a rude response but you can bet your boots that you would have been blocked from my auctions.

And for you to come here and post their personal information on a public forum - that's VERY unfair, even though they were rude back to you. I think you really should take that down and just not buy off this guy.
