Meal time!!!

I've just seen lola's reply too :rotfl:

This is where the two meal-planning Queen's come out on form :rotfl2:

I think you can have a brunch-style meal that early at Annettes, but most of the other restaurants and counter-service places don't open much before 11am for meals.

If you want to do King Ludwigs, I'd follow Lola's suggestion and go there for dinner on your spare evening.

We want to avoid the main park as much as possible in the daytime on our Saturday, but thinking more about it, Walts is probably worth going into the main park for over Restaurant des Stars that day, as the buffet restaurant will be much busier on a weekend than on a week day. Does that make sense?

I think you should try and fit in the Rainforest Cafe :thumbsup2

It's a totally diffrent experience to Walt's and the theme and atmosphere at Rainforest Cafe is such fun

I didn't have time to get there this time but really want to on my next trip

Just walk round the parks extra quick to burn off the calories

when you ring to reserve your meals they will tell you what times and days the restaurant is open. in general walts is closed on mondays and tuesdays and if the park closes at eight or earlier the latest sitting is half three.

hope that helps

ok.. off to make call....

what's the international phone number to make dinner reservations?

We were there last week and Buzz Pizza planet was CLOSED we asked at city hall and they said it would be closed the rest of this year!!!!! you may want to check but they did tell us it would hopefully reopen in 2012

you may want to check in advance to avoid disappointment and prepare the little one for something else before they get there

it's good thing I called. Took me some time (stupid operator kept saying "the number does not exist") :lmao:

Anyway, here are the news - attention please - Walt's is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays in March and the first seating is at 12.00. So I booked it for Wednesday 12.00 - it was my only option.

And I booked Mickey's cafe for 14th March, Monday, 18.15. Yay yay.

Ok, my plan needs update...

bah.. Shame I didn't see your message before calling.. Oh, well, we'll do cowboy cook out then I guess.

I did pick a bad time for my visit - so many closures :scared1::lmao:

we were there on sunday and had planned Pizza Planet for lunch ,was gutted it was closed :(
fab theming for kids and not bad food for the price either

We like the Rainforest Cafe, but the food seems very expensive for what it is! and wasn't that great the last time

I would prefer Cafe Mickey or even Annettes,as the dancing and skating waitresses is fun :)

So Rainforest cafe is not an option for a nice dinner time?

the only time we've done Rainforest Cafe was at lunchtime, and I really liked it. The service isn't brilliant, but I didn't think the food was that expensive, and you certainly got big portions. The theme of the restaurant is fantastic :goodvibes.

Is there an online menu you could look at to check prices?

my general opinion of disney restaurants is that many of them can be excellent when it is quiet. whenever i have visited restaurants while they were busy the service and food went way down. i could just be really unlucky though lol

we really enjoyed the rainforest for lunch time. the atmosphere is great and our waitress was very helpful. the last time we went for dinner and we had to wait ages for our food. when it did come out mine was fine but my mams fish was overcooked and ashleighs lasagne was burnt to a crisp. we were starving at this stage so got on with it. the same happened to us in the silver spur, annettes and cafe mickey at dinner time. i know loads of people have great reviews but it does seem i am unlucky lol

I think I'll go for Rainforest cafe around 17.30, just before the crowds hit the tables right?

So I'm settled at the moment like this:

1st day
Annette's - anymore suggestion for late lunch?

2nd day
Lunch - Cowboy cookout
Dinner -Mickey's cafe

3rd day
Lunch - something in Studios - suggestions please
Dinner - Rainforest cafe

4th day
Lunch - Walt's
Dinner -

5th day
Quick lunch before leaving at 11.15. Or is it better to leave without lunch and grab something at airport?

I've have always found that if you have a really good breakfast and a sit down meal reasonably early around 6pm ish.You can make do with just a light snack for lunch.Even my oldest boy who eats like a horse was satisfied with this.

Have you thought about Blockbuster Cafe in the Studios for lunch, there is a HSM side and a POTC side and I thought the snacks in there were pretty good.

If you are leaving at 11.15am on your last day it might be just a bit early to have lunch before you leave. You could maybe pick up a few sandwiches at the station shop, could be a bit cheaper than the airport.

this won't work for me. DS isn't a good eater. So it's a little but often :rolleyes1
He gets up at 7, so 7.30 for breakfast and head to the park. He usually gets his lunch around 12.00 and then dinner around 17.00-18.00. And then he grabs something small before going to bed. It's his daily routine, so I want to stick to it. and I know he will be more then happy to get a hamburger or cheeseburger and some french fries :lmao:

I know my plan can fall apart when we are there, but I like to plan and have everything ready.
I've decided for Cowboys cookout, restaurant en coulisse and Walt's for lunch. And Mickey's cafe, rainforest cafe and King Ludwig's for dinner.
First day I'd like to go to Annette's just because of those wonderful reviews. But we'll see.

And the last day is really out of the question for we won't have time for lunch in DLP, so probably we'll get some sandwiches on our way.

I know you aren't aloud to bring food in parks, but will they take away if a grab a drink or a sandwich or cookies in my bag? :confused3

you can definitely bring food in and out of the parks with you - the security check staff are not looking in your bags to confiscate food, so take snacks with you :).

oh good, maybe this will be enough for lunch :lmao:

Isila we will be at Walt's on the same day!!

I have just made a reservation for the Wednesday too, except ours will be at 3pm. As we will be having breakfast in the morning and most likely will have a coffee and pastries at Salon Mickey around 11am ish (it would be rude not to :cutie: ) we thought 12 might be a bit too early for us.

Depending on how long you soak up the atmosphere in Walt's - you may just see us at some stage!! :cutie:

Bon apetit!! :thumbsup2

Don't think we'll stick there for so long, but who knows :thumbsup2
we should do a meeting :lmao:
