Meal Suggestions

Ok after my not-so-lovely phone calls tonight with Disney Dining (see my other thread started tonight for the full story), what suggestions for "out of the norm (aka not the most popular)" places at Disney. I still need one table service place at the least-if I keep our late on check out day LTT ressie. If I drop that, I need two table service suggestions.

Here's what I've got:
We're checking in 9/17 and checking out 9/21. We're staying at ASSp.

9/18 NOTHING!!
9/19 8:00 Tusker House; 4:30 Tony's Town Square after BBB and before MNSSHP
9/20 4:20 Coral Reef with diver, personalized menus and custom cake
9/21 2:30 LTT-DMIL will already be gone as she's flying back to MI and we're driving back to SC-not sure if I'm keeping this one or not just yet...

What I've already checked into-
There NO CM availability the duration of our trip
There are NO character breakfasts available during our trip
On a long shot, there's nothing available at the castle during our trip

I was thinking about cancelled the TTS before MNSSHP just because I've read such terrible things, but now lacking TS credits already, I don't think that I could cancel that one.

We will have 5 TD, 5 CS and 5 snack credits to be used from breakfast 9/18 through breakfast 9/21 before DMIL leaves.

So, any suggestions?? I'm off to a terrible start trying to fix ADR mistakes this late in the free dining game so I'm hoping for anything at this point.

TIA for any tips/helps you could give me. I really appreciate it!!

O'Hana is great, but it may be hard to get a reservation

just came back on 8/28.Our party of six needed a TS and asked the concierge(P.S. a wealth lf information to all). They recommended the captains grill, without hesitation. We took thier suggestion,and discovered one of the best kept secrets going.the service was outstanding,not to mention the food and atmosphere.one of the best places we ate during our trip.

Some of the better meals we've had have been extremely easy to get ADR's for late in the game.

For example, I've always been able to get a Kona (my absolute favorite EVER) last minute. We've also been able to walk into this restaurant (yes, even during free dining) for an early (5 pm) dinner. We just had a very lovely dinner at the GF Cafe on 8/19 and the restaurant was empty at 5:20. I made an ADR late in the game for this one, but I can guarantee that anyone could have walked in without reservations. One more suggestion is the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club. It gets good reviews and is not a terribly popular choice.

Another option, call DDP on the day you want to eat, give them an idea of an area you want to eat and ask them for any openings anywhere. They will find something for you, and you may end up pleasantly surprised.

Whispering Canyon Cage at WL -- great fun!
50s Prime Time at DHS -- lots of guest interaction here too
Restaurant Akershus in Epcot (Norway) -- princess character meals all day
1900 Park Fare at the GF dinner -- Cindy, the Prince, and the absolutely hysterical Stepmother and Stepsisters
San Angel Inn in Epcot (Mexico) -- It's very pretty, cool, and relaxing to enjoy a meal overlooking the boat ride

Great resort restaurants to try:
Spoodles on the Boardwalk
Kona at the Poly
Boma at AKL

Thanks all for the great tips!

I've already tried getting into 1900 Park Fare and the princess meal in EPCOT. I'll have to look into the other locations. Unfortunetly Hurricane Hannah's projected to hit about 20 miles north of our house later this week so my ADRs may have to take a back seat for the next few days.

I throw out Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club as an opition because they don't take ADR's, but their are on the dinning plan. Or Cape May Buffet (breakfast is characters).
