Hello from a hopeful new member,

I wanted to ask two questions...your assistance is greatly appreciated.

1) How does the Disney meal plan work...cost, etc?

2) I underatnd that a new property is opening in Hawaii in 2011? Will all members have access t tis resort?

1) The DVC versionof the meal plans (Standard & Deluxe for 2008) are identical to the plan offered though Disney reservations, except that DVC does not require you to purchase the park tickets. You can use an AP, or get your park ticket from any vendor you wish.

Both plans must be linked to your DVC reservation by Member Services prior to your arrival at the DVC resort. The plan is only available to you if you are staying at a DVC resort, if you are staying at (for example) the Grand Floridian on points, you can not get the plan.

Dining Plans must apply to all persons in the room for the entire length of the reservation.

2) Once the resort is "declared" into DVC inventory, members who do not own at that resort should be able to book rooms at 7 months out, based on availability, just like members book their non-home resorts currently.
