I'm working on our first trip to WDW and we leave in a couple months....Help!

I'm so confused about the meal plans, what resturants to go to....and, how are your guys getting "FREE Food?" I've seen this a lot.

Help an overwhelmed Disney Mom. :lmao:

Hi! :wave2: The Free Dining that you hear everyone talking about is a promotion that Disney runs in the spring/early summer for Fall travel. The window has closed for this year, so you're not able to get the promo anymore, but you're going later than it was offered anyway, so I wouldn't sweat it.

You should check out the restaurant board and within the restaurant board is a link for the dining plan. :surfweb: That will give you a good start. Just read a lot! There is a lot of useful info on allears.net as well....

If you're totally overwhelmed and need help, feel free to PM me :goodvibes

Did you purchase one of the Dining Plans (DP)?

If so, you need to make your Advance Dining Reservations. (ADR'S) Even if you didn't purchase a DP, but want to eat in any of the Table Service (TS) restaurants, you need to schedule your ADR's or you might not get in.

If you have Magic Your Way (MYW) base tickets, 1 park per day... you need to make your ADR's in or near the park you will be visiting each day.

If you bought Hopper tickets, you'll have a little more flexibility for dining, but remember "hopping" takes time to travel.

Decide which park you'll visit each day. (Check parks hours at the WDW site.)
Read menus at the allears site.
Don't forget you can dine at Down Town Disney and the resort restaurants, too. (A great way to check out other resorts!)

We choose our restaurants for a variety of reasons... the food, the atmosphere, the fun, etc. We make most of our reservations for dinner but alaways do at least 1 character breakfast.

Some of our favorites -

In or near MK -
'Ohana'a at the Poly
Kona at the Poly
1900 Park Fare at G.F. (character breakfast)
Crystal Palace in MK (Winnie the Pooh & Friends character meals)

In or near Epcot -
Coral Reef - (1 entire wall is an aquarium)
Le Cellier in Canada
Teppan Edo in Japan
Spoodles on the Boardwalk
Cape May at the Beach Culb

AK
Boma's at AKL
Yak & Yeti's - trying this one for the first time next week!
Downtown Disney restaurants... because AK closes early than the other parks, we usually go to DTD at night.

DHS
We're trying Mama Melrose this trip, but usually go to one of the Boardwalk or Epcot area resorts... a beautiful boat ride away.

You might want to call Disney Dining and see what is available... some CM's are very helpful.

Have fun planning.
