hi,

we just got home from our trip with the free meal plan. boy was it worth it for us!! we ate like we have never eaten before!!! we used counter service at the standard places in the parks and at the POP. With our snacks, we had a ton at the end and used them for water and cookies and rice crispy treats at the pop at the end. our table service meals went like this.....(we were a group of 5 adults, 5 kids and a toddler)

Italy - italian restaurant - tons of food, would be easy to share there as the appetizer is as big as the meal!! the kids didnt like it very much, as the sauces was spiced a little differently than ragu. was also disappointed they didnt have more gnocci, manicotti, ravioli and other types of dishes. i got the lasagna and i didnt particularly like the taste, but they immediately brought me a bowl of spaghetti and meatballs. they do make the pasta there. overall it was fun to try but i dont think we would eat there again (if you love alfredo, they did have a yummy version of this - very very rich).

chef mickey's - loved by all, everyone liked the food. we were each able to get a regular and a special drink (not the glo drinks though). it kept moving so that kept the kids happy. turkey and mashed potatoes were a big favorite as well as the pizza and mac and cheese!! dessert bar was great!!

prime time 50's - an absolute ball!!! everybody was happy with the regular type food. it was very good!! we were able to get glo drinks there included in the plan. they were awesome about saying how many appetizers and special drinks we had left to use for anyone at the table. 2/5 kids got in trouble and were "punished" by our cousin diane....desserts here were awesome,,,the smores and dad's sunday were great. one kid was disappointed by the size of the kids make your own sundae and wished she had gotten dad's sundae but other than that yummy!!

concourse steak house - this was sooooo great!!! every body enjoyed their food, the monorail kept everyone entertained, they also helped us make sure we used all our special credits...the shrimp coctail was to die for!! the brownie sunday was awesome!!!

if anyone has any questions, im here!!

Thanks for the reviews :flower:

For Concourse you said they helped you make sure to use all of your special credits - could you explain that please? :)

at the concourse they knew that we each could have a special drink, appetizer, dinner and dessert and when each of the kids didnt order an appetizer or somebody didnt order a special drink etc, they kept reminding us so we could order something (like an extra shrimp coctail or extra dessert) if we wanted to :) :)

the service kept moving, the kids were able to get up and get their own food, the characters kept rotating,,,,,they didnt get tired of sitting like they did at other places...

Oh OK. For a second there I thought maybe it was a revolving restaurant. I've never been there so I wasn't sure.

Free food is the best isn't it? Thanks for the report!

the meal plan costs so that one is prepaid meals. Am I not reading the meal plans the right way
:confused3

There was a promotion that allowed you to add the dining add on for free if you booked by aug 20 and checked in 8/21-10/4. Many people on the boards took advantage of this package promotion. It is no different from the dining add on that you can purchase.

Trying to decide whether the meal plan is actually worth it if you have to pay for it. Would you get it again if you had to pay for it?

My fiance and I are planning on going to WDW on our honeymoon
from 10/2/05 - 10/7/05. At the time we made the reservations and
actually booked the trip, the resort (POFQ) wasn't offering a free
meal plan. We were able to purchase it as an extra though.

My fiance and I did the math for the trip and decided that the overall
cost of the meal plan was worth what we would spend together for
the price of sit down meals alone. Not having to worry about the $$
for meals or trying to nickle and dime our way through lunch and
dinner was a headache saver.

Good reviews thank you for sharing your experience. :goodvibes :wizard: :wave2:

Hi,

There is a revolving restaurant in the Land Pavilion, I think!!

Im not sure if we would pay for it. I think it would depend on how many sit down meals or character meals that we were going to do. We usually share a lot of meals and that keeps the cost down for us. We have never eaten better than with the meal plan which was free during our stay. I would say that if you do a lot of sit downs to go ahead and try it...our bill for 10 of us was usually about $350 just for dinner alone!!! It was really fun for us cause even though we have been to disney many times, we usually sacrifice sit down meals for extra souviniers or a longer stay ( ; :flower:
