When looking into packages I see 3-day, 4-day meal plans, etc.. can someone tell me a little about this.. we are staying at PPH and will book Ariels Gotto, but besides that we were just going to try to wing it as far as breakfast, lunch and dinner...

Is getting a meal plan better? What's the pro's and con's?

I was curious about this too, but it doesn't seem at all like the dining plan at WDW. I think we've decided to skip it this time, since we'll be staying concierge. :cool1:

It's not at all like the WDW dining plan. You actually get vouchers for dollar amounts and/or character meals which you use to pay for your meals. If you do not spend the full amount of the voucher, you do not get change back and if you spend a bit more than the voucher, you have to add some cash.

We did do this in March, but won't be doing it again. It's really not as convenient as I hoped it would be and we actually spent far more money and wasted far more food that we would have otherwise.

I think it has worked out well for some people, but certainly not a good deal for us!

Some of the longer meal plans include char meals. We have done DL plan 2 times, and WDW 1. Hands down WDW beats it. The plan is 1 coupon book per person worth a set amount. If you don't spend set amount you DO NOT get change, if you go over you either waste another voucher to cover, or pay out of pocket. That being said you CAN'T use them in DTD, so if you want to dine in DTD you will pay out of pocket. Also the candy store on Main Street, and Poohs corner does not take them. We are going in March, and are not doing the plan again.
