Meal Plan - Calculation and Worth it?

Hi,

I am starting to plan for a DW trip in October and have a couple questions about the meal plan.

We will probably be coming from a Sunday to Saturday...so those two days wouldn't be full days (i.e. most likely 1 meal).

Mon-Fri would be full days; however, we may spend one day outside of DW (too much Disney for my husband...ha ha).

So if we got the meal plan, we would only want 4 days worth and pay the rest out of pocket.

1) In the package calculation, is it assuming a full meal plan for all 7 days?
2) Is the meal plan really worth it? It seems like a lot more than we would normally eat. E.g. I could see us having 1 sit down dinner each night with meal, dessert, drinks (well, I just drink water). Our kids have a snack, but breakfast and lunch are usually quite simple...so no dessert or anything else.

Thoughts?

Your meal plan MUST be for the duration of your trip. (The number of nights, in your case 7 nights.)

ETA: You could consider a split stay if you only want a meal plan for 4 nights.

summermac, thanks for clarifying. Looks like a meal plan is not worth it then and we should just pay each meal out of pocket.

Sun-Sat is 6 nights so you'd have 6 days worth of meals, not 7. There are plenty of options where you can use the credits without going into parks if that's your concern. Depending on the age breakdown of your kids and # of character meals, it may or may not be worth it so best to look through the menus to figure it out. Enjoy either way!
