Hi Everyone,
I just rented out some of my points for the first time to a family in NJ. The person who rented from me wanted to know if he could purchase the meal plan with cash when he checks in at the OKW. I have never bought a meal plan, so I told him I would look into it. Do any of you have experience as a renter buying a meal plan?

Also, the renter would like to take advantage of the DVC discounts if possible. When we go, we show our member card to get the discounts. Is there a way for my renter to receive the discounts without having the membership card?

Finally, the renter tried to confirm the reservation I made for him by calling DVC MS and they would not speak to him because he is not a member. Is this always true?

Thanks in advance,
Diane

MS is for members only not renters. DVC perks are for Members only not renters. The dining plan must be arranged prior to check-in. I believe you pay for it at check-in but must request it before arrival. You should be able to arrange it for the renter.

I have rented points on several occassions and they have all added on the dining plan for my family. We just pay for it when we arrive. We are very appreciative of them giving us the opportunity.

As stated perks are for members only. They do not transfer to renters.

Yes the renter can pay cash for the plan. However you the member will have to set it up with Member Services for them before they arrive.

No they can not call Member Services to confirm the reservation. They stopped this recently due to the abuse of the phone service by renters. Too many people calling and tying up phone lines.

Your renter will have to do with the written confirmation.
