Metro already answered your question. I just wanted to say "Hi" because DH and I will be visiting at the same time (5/29-6/1) for our 20th anniversary. It is our first time visiting at this time of year (and without kids!) and can't wait. We are not doing the meal deal but are bringing our refillable mug from our last visit in September. Refills at that time were under $1 - incredible deal becuase it was hot and I think werefilled it at every other drink station we came across. We had two mugs for 4 people.

Is the meal deal that much of 'deal'? I'm not sure I can eat that much fast food.

No problem...if you have any other questions, feel free to ask! :thumbsup2

I think the meal deal is great if you have hungry teens. I do agree that it can be too much fast food though for me.

I have been trying to decide if this deal is really worth it, not having been to either of the parks in the past I really don't know what the cost for an average lunch/supper would be. If snacks were included I think it would be a simple decision. Is it possible that the two meals would cost more than $23.99 at theses resturants? Or is this plan reallly for people who would be eating more than two meals?

Thanks for any insight.

Karen

You can make your own snacks...cookies, jello, cakes can be had with the meal deal without getting an entree. Also you can get say breadsticks from the Italian places without an entree.

Two of my teenagers finally tried the meal deal this past Easter Vacation. Here are my thoughts:
1. you have to have more than 2 meals to make it worth it.
2. you really have to like fast food - one of the 2 could have a burger for every meal so it was ok for him.
3. this could be a good, cost-effective, way, for one time, to try all the different food options that you would not normally try. For example, my kids tried several different meals at the International Food restaurant at Universal.
We now know that we will never eat there again.
4. if you go at a super busy time of the year, like Easter week, the lines can be so long that you might not want to wait and thus might not even get to those extra meals.
5. if the teenagers are going to be in the parks alone (mom stays back at the pool) they can be sent over without too much cash and still eat - this can be a great benefit if your boys are like mine - they can lose anything.
We are really glad that we tried this once but I have to say that when we go back this summer I don't think we'll do it again.
One final note - we had never gone to Florida for Easter break - Oh boy, it sure is crowded. Of course, since it was Universal we had a blast anyway and will be going back in July.
