Can someone explain to me how the meal deal at AK works, if it still exists, and how much it costs?

I can remember reading something about this, but the search function is disabled.

I think it was a meal of some sort, with a drink, and vouchers for a bottle of water and a snack...

Anyone know?

I know it's a really good deal. You get the entree and a drink and later you can get an ice cream or popcorn and a drink (water, soda, or sportdrink) from any of the carts. The voucher is good for that day only.

Child $5.99 and adults $11.99. Your meal including a drink and then another bottle of water coupon and either ice cream or popcorn coupon. We just did it a few weeks ago and hope it stays because I want to do it in April.

The meal deal is a great value. It's either $11.99 or $12.99 for adults and $5.99 for kids. The meal includes lunch (main dish and dessert, I think), a drink, and a snack (popcorn or ice cream). We've used them three times and they're a great deal!

Thanks, everyone, for your responses!:p

I have just one more question - where do I buy the vouchers? At AK itself? Also do you need a PS for Tusker House? We've only been to AK once, and all we had was (were?) snacks - I don't even remember seeing a restaurant (of course, we weren't looking for one).

You get the vouchers right at the cash register as you order. It is very simple and a great value. Hope this helps!

No PS's for Tusker House - it's counter service :)

Let me just add, the portion sizes at Tusker house are very generous and the food is wonderful.........I never eat green beans but the ones that came with my entree were excellent.
And if you have room for desert, they have wonderful carrot cake and cheesecake, etc. But DH and I always share...the desserts are large too! It amazes me that food cooked on such a large scale can be so good.

We liked Tusker House as well - we thought it was one of the better counter service options out there

Thanks

I thought the Flame Tree BBQ was way overated, although the seating area is really nice. I thought that Tusker House had much better food.

Here is the Tusker House Rotisserie Chicken (and green beans) on the right :)

What do the kids get to choose to eat? I'm mostly thinking of Tusker House because I would like to try the chicken.

Meal deal sounds fabulous, but is it only good at AK? We're doing AK first thing with ee and will probably only do half day before going to MGM or Epcot. Could we pick up the ice cream somewere after we leave AK?

Do any of the other parks have similar deals?

haven't used it but know I read somewhere you have to use it at Ak the day you purchase it...don't know if anyone has done differently and how they know when you get it but that's what I read. ( figured it was too much food for us since I have a coupon for RFC breakfast that day and we are going to Boma for dinner that night, we'd be rolling around the park)
