Feb.2008 will be our first trip to us/oia. I am debating purchasing meals with 7 day tix. Meal deal would cost our family of 4 about $100 a day. Does it sound like it would save money? TIA, Tracey

The menu can be rather limited especially the children's menu. My advice is wait. You can purchase it at the parks. Just go to one of the participating restaurants. Look at the menu and decide if the meal deal looks like it will save you money. You can purchase it right when you order at the meal deal restaurant.

The advantage to this is you can see if the foods on the meal deal menu are what you really want to order and also compare the meal deal price to just paying for the meal. For some people it can be a great savings and, for others, it isn't.

I was contemplating also doing this and did some research. It appears that the restaurants/counter service included are the least liked of all the eating establishments, at least that is the consensus. I personally have had luck at Mel Diner's we had burgers there no better or worse than I'd say the local McDonalds. I've had a good burger at Burger Digs we got there and they were just making them so not sure if that was reason for this, but again, not the best or worst burger in the world, it subsided our hunger and we didn't get sick, we just wanted something quick and this served our purpose.

According to what is written on these meal deals you have UNLIMITED access to the select food venues so if you are traveling human trash disposal (as I refer to my teenagers) then this could save you a bundle. If you are traveling with picky eaters than it wouldn't be that much of savings since the meals themselves are not that expensive if you only have one, once you venture into having more than two meals per person, it would be worth it. Be aware that you cannot take food out of the restaurant and sharing is frowned upon (even though I can't imagine how they would be able to control this, but it is stated in the rules).

The one thing I'm interested in hearing about is whether anyone has gotten the meals with CW add on, its only $5 for a dinner entree at selected locations in CW. I'd like to hear someone has faired with that. Hopefully, others will chime in and give some more info on this. HTH :cool1:

For me and my family I have not found this to be a good deal due to I have 2 DS's and they really not interested in eating much in the parks cause they want to ride as much as they can for the day and usually won't want to eat unless they are starving or we are out of the parks for the night but the citywalk part might be good too but it is very limited too.

The meal deal rocks!

We did it for two days and LOVED it. Considering that meals cost at least $7, and you know you are going to spend the day, I say go for it. You'll be spending more anyways for three meals :thumbsup2

I agree with phamton...wait and check it out at the park....OR the menu section of allearsnet.com.....

It doesn't pay for us....for one thing, we're not into all that 'fast food' type stuff...(altho, we are a 'little' lax on vacation)..... but, we stop at the store on the way in and buy breakfast foods and eat big in the room. Have a snack for lunchtime and then we eat an early dinner....like we start thinkin' about dinner around 4...and plan to be where we want by 5. That works for us.....
