This may well be covered but I couldn't find the right search term to bring it up.
I know we can use ME without yellow tags, just giving our claim checks to ME staff
What about when the yellow tags have the wrong resort name?
We switched resorts but they never sent us new luggage tags. So the ones we have have the wrong name on them. The confirmation number is correct.
Will the wrong resort name send them on a long route to us? I figure they'd get it straightened out eventually but wanted to avoid the bags making a trip to the wrong resort in the first place.
I wasn't sure if they read them or if they scan the barcode?
Am I better off just leaving off the yellow tags with the wrong resort name?

Cross out the wrong name and write in the right one. The barcode will get them the the correct place, but if they have to be manually handled, they need to have the correct resort listed.

Yes, this.

Thanks. I ended up calling just to be sure since I wanted to be sure when we scanned our MB it showed the correct resort.
They did advise to cross out the name, just to be safe.
It's the first time we didn't get replacement tags when we changed resorts.

A friend of mine had the same issue in September. Crossed out the resort and wrote in the correct one, and she got her bags with no issue. Have fun!

We had this same issue a couple years ago. I called and they said just to cross out the wrong resort and write the right resort on it somewhere. We did, and our luggage arrived as normal, so I'm guessing they probably really scan them.

You might also want to cross out the resort area code in the Mickey head if it's changed. So for instance, if you were originally staying at the Contemporary, it would say MK in the Mickey head, since the Contemporary is in the MK resort area. But if you're now staying at BC, the correct resort area code would be EP for Epcot.

This happened to us last trip and after a few different answers from DME I decided to just get my own bags this time - although I do love the luggage delivery feature of DME normally. A couple factors that helped with that decision - we were arriving on the same side as DME so we didn't have to crisscross the airport after getting the bags and our flight arrived mid afternoon so there was a very good chance our room would be ready (it was), we also did online check in.

Our bags came out fairly quickly and we had cash on hand to tip the DME driver. We didn't need assistance at the resort and were able to bypass check in and go right to the room bags in hand.

I would still use the luggage delivery in most situations, arriving early, young kids, arriving on the A side for example; but picking up the bags wasn't that much of a problem either.

Just a quick return to report, for any searching and wondering to answer their question,

I gave the ME CM our claim check numbers and we got our bags, no problems.
The 2 we gave them made it faster than our bags with yellow tags.
I think from now on we may just leave off the yellow tags and give them our claim checks.

That's what I did on my trip earlier this month. It took a long time for them to deliver them last time. My flight landed at 1:30 and I had a 5:45 dinner res at Via Napoli. Even with SW being on A side, it worked out. My BWV room was ready (I got the text) so I went straight to the room and could get what I needed out of my luggage.
