Expect to be at your resort within 60-90 minutes of when you get off of the plane if you use the DME luggage transfer service or have only carry-on bags. If you collect your own bags, add at least another 20 minutes to those times.
It was just over an hour when I took it on Nov. 30, 2010.
We stopped at several resorts and there were several more to go after they stopped at BWI, where I was going. There was an accident on the main road they used so the driver had to take a detour which added to the time.
That's why I don't do ADR's on arrival day - you never know what could happen to delay you.
Generally, an individual DME bus will stop at 3-4 resorts; not "several." During off hours it would be possible for a bus to go to more than that or to go to just a single resort. After one late-night arrival my family had private motor coach service from MCO to the Poly.

Unfortunately, the word "several" has been bumped up to after two - the media seems to have manipulated the use of it over the past couple of years - well, or maybe several since it is about three or four now.

When I was there in December it took a little over an hour (1 hour 5 minutes) for the travel portion of our trip from MCO to BWI. We only stopped at POR before the BWI. We didn't go directly to ME after landing, so I don't have a de-plane to ME time, but normally it's about 15 to 20 minutes (based on previous experience). I should add that we got in around 5 pm.
With regards to meaning of "several" - I liked how vague the definition is in Merrian-Webster: "more than two but fewer than many." Then the definition of many is "consisting of or amounting to a large but indefinite number."

Well, that's true but my answer still stands as the PP said the bus went to "several" resorts before her stop and had "several" more to go. That would imply at least three stops before BWI and at least three stops after if we use the "more than two and less than many" description, and it would be rare that a DME bus would be stopping at seven resorts.
The one time I took ME, we landed about 10am, and we only take carry-ons when we travel. It was after 12:30pm by the time we got to the BWI; we had 3 stops before our resort, but we waited in lines for quite a long time prior to boarding the bus. The ones going to the value resorts were boarding and leaving very quickly, but our line just sat there waiting for a bus. I never took ME again - too much time, and I like to do a grocery stop. Just my experience - I know there are many here that think ME is the best way to go, but I hated it.
The majority of routes have three stops, some have four. Plan on an average of 70 mins, from gate to resort. Or, plan on 90 mins and be thrilled when it takes less time.
I'm the poster who used the word "several". In my case I use the word several as 2. I can understand why it gets confusing since to others it can mean more than 2.
I pulled my notebook and these are the stops that were made on Nov. 30, 2010 according the the announcement the driver made (I exited at BWI):
Yacht Club, Beach Club, Boardwalk Inn, POR and CBR.
Good luck planning. There are so many variables with travel planning.
