ME tags, but taxi to dinner instead

We and friends are staying at CSR soon. Friends arrive about 3pm, and need to meet us for Hoop Dee Doo dinner at 5pm. I am thinking they should take a cab directly from MCO to Ft. W, but will this cause problems for their luggage delivery to CSR? They would be checking in later that evening about 8pm. Thank you for your advise.

If they aren't on the bus the luggage won't be delivered to the resort. It isn't just a luggage delivery service.

DME has very clearly stated rules that inbound, passengers must accompany their luggage. It sounds like they either need to change the flight or the HDD reservation. EVen with a rental car, getting from MCO to HDD in two hours with checked luggage is going to be very tight.

If they aren't going to be on the bus, then I wouldn't take any chances with the luggage. Do not put the yellow tags on the bags, and pick them up at the airport in person. Of course, this is going to present a problem at HDDR...I don't know what they'll say about a bunch of bags sitting around. And then, for the trip, by bus I'm assuming, back to your resort..well, you aren't allowed to bring luggage on it.
I think all in all, your friends should just use DME and hope for the best....they may be late getting there though. If they land at 3, they should be at the resort by 4:15ish, if the checkin lines are long, I would just bypass them, and go grab a cab to get me to HDDR. If the lines look doable, then checkin, and then grab a cab directly to HDDR. I don't think I would take the bus....too time consuming.

What might make the most sense is just renting a car for the day. Rent the car, grab the bags, and drive straight to FW, leaving the bags in the trunk.

I'd use the DME tags. Waiting for luggage is likely to take about the same as the extra time to use DME. They should get to CSR 60-75 minutes after they land. If they're short on time take a cab from CSR. If they're flight is delayed go to the DME desk, let them scan the voucher and take a cab.

I was wondering if they could take ME to WL and go from there...I think it might be worth a call to Disney and find out(even if they bring their luggage to WL and ask Bellservices there to hold).
Or are friends in same town as you...but just leaving on a later flight? It sounds from you post that you will be in earlier than your friends. I

Is there anyway that you can change the night you are going to HHHR. If their plane is even just and hour or two late the tickets for the show will be lost. They tell you that they do not let you in after 5:15 and the tickets are not refundable. That is cutting it pretty close.

Nope. DME will only take you to the resort where you're staying. I agree with post # 8 (I think). You should consider at least changing your HDDR reservation to a later show, if not an entirely different night.

Thank you everyone for your replies. Our friends are flying from another state, and it is liekly that their flight will be slightly delayed.

We will try to move our HDDR time. Thanks again.

I think that is the best choice. :thumbsup2
