Having just returned from a wonderful week at WDW this past monday, I thought I would pass along our ME experience to everyone. The transportation part of ME was right on. Our plane arrived at the gate at 12:30pm and we walked into the Hospitality House at OKW exactly 1 hour later at 1:30, hard to beat that no matter how you go from MCO to WDW. The return trip was just as quick. Our bus was scheduled at 9:50am for a 1pm departure. We flew with SW so we had to take our bags with us. Had bell services pick us up at 9:15(they were right on time), got to the HH a few minutes later, and a ME bus was sitting there loading other passengers. Since our time was still about 30 minutes away, I figured we would have to wait. Surprise, the bus driver came over and asked us if we were going to MCO, we said yes, but scheduled for later time. He said buses were running late, and he would go ahead and take us. That was great, we hate being late for anything, so getting to MCO early was no problem for us.
Baggage on arrival left a little to be desired. As I said, we arrived at OKW at 1:30pm, were checked in within 15 minutes, received our room assignment between 3:30 & 4, but at 6:30 our bags still have not arrived in our room. I called the front desk, they told me our bags were at the resort, and they would get them to us asap. At 8:30pm, our bags arrived. We were prepared with our carry on, so it was no big deal, but 7 hours is kind of stretching it. I think the problem was our resort and not ME though, as we arrived on Jan 1st and the resort was very busywith guests arriving and departing. Hope this might help anyone planning on using ME in the future. We will definitely use the service again.

Thanks for the report. Sounds like things are just sailing along smoothly at the airport. DME certainly is working quite well as far as the people transport goes. But, it does seem to 'fall apart' on the resort level. I don't think anyone would complain with a 3 hr. wait for their luggage but much more than that and it gets silly. I really think that there is a lot of luggage just sitting there, at the resorts, for quite awhile before anyone does anything with it. Perhaps if they made it a 'tipped' postition again, it would speed things up!!!

Perhaps we might solicit some trip sub-reports:

Who has seen, lined up along a pathway at their resort, their own luggage awaiting delivery to their room.

Who has seen their luggage lined up along a pathway and retrieved it on the spot?

The above is not likely to occur just upon arrival since the guest usually beats the luggage there. It is not practical to make this part of the luggage process a tipped position again since guests will be at the park, not in the room, when the bellhop arrives.
