ME packet not here and we leave in a week!

We leave next Monday morning....actually Sunday since we are spending a night at a hotel near the airport. We have not yet received our Magical Express packet. I ordered it through the DVC site a couple months ago, and with all the chaos at home (another trip a month ago, Thanksgiving, school plays etc....) I didn't realize until yesterday that we hadn't received our packet. I called them to see what the problem was and they said it was because I had our PO Box And our physical address listed....that has never been a problem before and I get mail addressed that way all of the time. She put it through again and said that the system took it so we should receive it in time. She said that if we wouldn't receive it in time it wouldn't go through. (How Disney's computer knows how mail delivery will behave is anybody's guess!)
But in case Disney's computer doesn't know how quick the post office will get it to me - what do we do if we don't receive it in time? I read the sticky at the top of this board and saw that we can turn in our luggage tags to have our bags claimed for us even if we don't have our tags......but what about the voucher that we need for boarding the bus?? We are also traveling with a friend who has already received her packet, we were going to see if she had an extra luggage tag in case we don't get ours and we would just retrieve our luggage from her room....but that doesn't help with riding the bus.
Of course, I made the colossal mistake of telling my husband - so of course he will be in full-blown panic mode until they arrive. Can someone please reassure me that we will still be able to use ME even if our packet does not arrive in time.
 
If you are in the system, if they can pull up your DME information, you will be fine. As you've read, you can use the luggage service, just give them your claim numbers at the DME checkin. They can also pull up your reservation there and print you boarding passes to get on the bus. It would be the same as if someone forgot their booklet, or packed it in their bags.

This happened to us last time. Just check in at the ME desk. They will print your documents and take your luggage claim check information. Your bags will make it to your room just fine.
 
whew....just found this post....just realized 3 minutes ago that I didn't get my packet either (running around with the holidays like you) and we leave in 5 days. Reservations is closed so couldn't talk to anyone and started to panic. haven't told my travel companions yet that I dropped the ball.

guess i will just call in the morning to make sure they have our flight info and stop at the ME desk like previous poster suggested. luckily we weren't checking backs anyway so just worrying about boarding the bus.
 

For my 2008 WDW marathon trip my packet never arrived. I made sure to have my reservation number and when I went to ME they looked it up via that number. It was no problem.

I get my bags myself and bring them to the bus so the lack of tags was of no concern for me.
 
Got my ME packet yesterday. We didn't get to the post office to get the mail Wed. so don't know if it arrived Wed or Thurs - but bottom line - it was here in time! :cool1::cool1:
