Hi guys, I'm going on my first Disney World trip this December.
My TA suggested that I book a limo service to save some time...we'll be getting to MCO about 8 AM, our return flight will leave about 7:30 PM. I've got a package and plan to go to the parks on both our arrival and departure days.
I'm certainly not against limo service, the time factor is important. So I was wondering, what experiences has everyone had with ME? Does it really take so long? The thing that sold me on ME was the not dealing with my luggage until it shows up in my room, no baggage claim, no trundling suitcases and golf bags along... and the ability to pre check in for my flight at the hotel (I', flying Delta). She mentioned a free grocery stop but I wasn't actually planning on a grocery stop...so if I do limo then I save time but...the whole bag handling is our responsiblity...not sure which is the better deal.

What are your thoughts? Anyone?

I also am wondering about the ME. Once they pick up at the airport, does the bus stop at every resort? (I would assume they would have to) Or are there designated buses for each resort? Does this add on MUCH more time? :confused3 Any report from past experience would be great.

There are designated buses for groups of resorts, but on an as-needed basis - not necessarily the same resorts on the same bus every trip.

It took me about an hour from landing to Resort, but my Resort was the first of four on my bus (just happened to be the four Value Resorts on that trip).

I can't see that a limo would be any faster, given that you have to first wait for your luggage (and despite what anybody says, it does NOT all appear on the carousel ten minutes after the plane lands :)) and DME is free while the limo would cost you close to $100 with expected tip.

The resorts are grouped. Generally not more than 2 stops. My bus stopped at POP, CSR and then AKL.

According to Tyler the average time between landing and arriving at your resort is 70 minutes. A limo won't be that much less since you'll be waiting for your luggage.

Going back DME will pick you up about 3 hours before your flight. You can probably cut that to 1.5-2 hours if you use a towncar. OP can use DME to check your luggage and get your BP and still take a towncar TO the airport (luggage only isn't available in the inbound portion).

OP might consider taking a towncar to MCO. Since you'll be checking your luggage at your resort you may even be able to have the towncar pick you up at a theme park or DTD.
