So sorry, this is probably a dopey question!

So we leave tomorrow on SW and I just checked in online and printed my boarding passes. We have the ME tags and we are all good to go with that. My question is, how does it work on the way back to the airport? I think we check in at the resort, correct? Do we do that approx. 24 hours beforehand, like I just did for the boarding passes on the way down? We are staying at AoA if that matters.

Thanks for any help!

You can check in at the resort to get your boarding passes and check your luggage. We received a letter in our room the day before that had brief instructions. We just went down the morning of to do everything. ME will pick you up about 3 hours before your flight.

For Magical Express back to the airport (any airline) you need to verify and make any needed corrections to your bus time on the morning of the day before the day you will leave (via DME). Normally a confirmation sheet is delivered to your room then.

With SW, unless you paid for EBCI, you'll want to check in on-line at the 24 hour mark to get the best boarding position. You'll still get ME confirmation information on your door, but I wouldn't depend on ME for the boarding passes for SW. You can print boarding passes at the airport.

Just to follow up on this...
1) If you've paid for EBCI, you don't have to do anything. SW will automatically check you in, and RAC (baggage check in) will print boarding passes for you if ME doesn't provide them.
2) If you don't have EBCI, use your smart phone, go to a park's customer service desk, or your resort's concierge to get checked in at the 24 hour mark.
3) You can check your luggage (I think SW is a participating airline) at your Disney resort, but that must be done at least 3 hours before your flight. The RAC desks are open 5am-1p, so if you have a flight before 8am, you'll need to take your luggage with you on the ME bus.

Sam has hit the nail on the head here. I just wanted to confirm that SWA does participate in RAC and has for a few years now, so you will be able to use the service provided that the flight time works with their schedule. As noted, you must be completely checked (not just in line) in no later than three hours before your scheduled flight time and you can check in as early as 12 hours before your flight time.
