More great installments I see, BTW, you and your mom do look an awful lot alike. Me and my mom are alike too and I used to get so upset when guys would think she was my older sister and fair game :lmao: hope you don't suffer with this problem,

Thanks for all of your responses! I hope to finish the report by the end of the week! Yes, people do say that my mom and I look alike. Yes, I used to really hate it, but I am trying to remind myself that she is my mother! :rotfl: . No one really thinks that we are sisters, but my Dh and I, he is 7 years older than I, went out once and someone thought he was my dad. Ah, I haven't let him live that down :lmao: .

Buying into DVC just to "save" money at a resort? Sounds like something I would do LOL :teeth:

I have enjoyed reading your report so far. Thanks for sharing, :thumbsup2

Towards the end of every trip I always say that I should have planned a day to just relax. Well, this trip was no different. On our last full day in Florida I planned for us to take the Keys to the Kingdom Tour at 8:30 a.m. I was tired. Mom could barely stand up straight with all of her blisters. :rotfl2:

We dragged ourselves out of bed and made it to the MK and checked in for our tour. At check in I grabbed a water bottle and we waited for the rest of our group to arrive. They provided everyone in the group with an id badge to wear around our neck, a name tag to pin on our shirt, and a listening device to clip to our shorts. The listening device is about the size of a deck of cards with one ear phone clip attached by a wire. Think headphones minus one ear phone. I also had on a fanny pack, and I had the water on a Disney water bottle holder. I was the ultimate touring geek. This is important information to remember for later.

We had a diverse group of 12-14 people. Our guide was ok. I thought him to be a bit sarcastic, but I am sure he was just trying to be funny. The tour began on Main Street, and the guide point out all of the windows and told a sad story about Walt. We moved to Adventureland next where we sat for 30 minutes as our guide gave us a history lesson about WDW and the Disney family. It was during this history lesson that I realized I had drunk all of my water. Humm, I had to go to the restroom. Luckily when he was done talking, he gave us a bathroom break.

Now, remember that I had on enough equipment to practically be inspector gadgets girlfriend. I decided that I didn’t want to take any of my equipment off. I was going to manage with it all on. Warning, Warning, Warning do not try this on your next vacation. The next thing I know I feel the headphone slip off of my ear.

“Plop”
It didn’t fall to the ground. No, that would be too easy.
It didn’t fall into my lap.
It fell into the toilet.

When things fall in the toilet at home I often contemplate whether or not I should just flush it. I, however, knew that I couldn’t flush this down the toilet. It was part of the tour. It would get stuck. I needed it. Luckily, those automatic toilets at WDW do not seem to work for me. I am not sure why, but they just don’t automatically flush. . .until this time.

Yes, as I stood up I watched the headphone swirl around the white porcelain. My quick go-go-gadget mind picked up the wire the headphone was on and pulled it straight up and out of the toilet. Now, the ear piece was safe. . . except all of the toilet paper I had used is kindly wrapped around the entire ear piece so that it looks like a little mummy.

At this point I am laughing hysterically, and I don’t find bathroom humor funny! I picked the toilet paper off of the ear piece and laugh my way to the sick where I try to disinfect the apparatus.

I am sorry to report that I was just too embarrassed to ask for another headphone. I spent the next thirty minutes shaking the water out of the thing. Ah, it made for an interesting experience.

The rest of the tour was uneventful. We were able to spend 45 minutes down in the tunnels.

Mom and I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening relaxing and finally watching Wishes again. We are even planning to take a trip again together next spring break! :wizard:

Magical Express: Every time I go to WDW I tell myself that I am going to treat myself to a town car service. However, ME really isn’t that bad. It is nice that they transport the luggage to the hotel and we didn’t have any problems with this. On the return trip there were actually one six of us on the bus! All in all the money saved allowed me to buy another soevuniear.

Crowds: I was frightened to go the first part of April, but the crowds were basically a non issue. I used the UG to determine what parks would be best to go to on what day. People seem to be so afraid of the early morning extra hours, but when we were there the EMH at MK was not crowded at all. I will go this time of year again. The weather was so beautiful.

Keys to the Kingdom: I highly recommend taking the tour. I felt like I knew a lot about DW and I still learned tons more. A word of caution, take your ear piece off when using the restroom!

Shoes: Get a good pair! Happy feet make for happy touring!

Turtle Talk with Crush: I had avoided this on every trip, but I will say it was amazing. I can’t wait to see it again!

Dining Plan: Even though we had some credits left over, we still saved money. It was also worth it not to have to worry about the expense at the end of the trip. I know that some people get all worked up about picking a table service, but I always look at it as the table service ADR is kind of our anchor. You can always change your mind!

Noteworthy Counter Service:
Sunshine Seasons: This is a really nice counter service location at Epcot. I am not a huge fan or World Showcase dining—I am a picky eater. There are many options at Sunshine Seasons and a lot of tables. We ate around the corner way from Sorrin and it was also a fairly quiet place to eat.

Pinnoico Haus Village: Since they changed the menu, I don’t think it is as good. I really liked the cheese sauce that you cout dispense like the ketchup machines. Oh well, however, if you are on the Dining Plan, you can get a Mickey RiceKrispie treat as your desert.

Noteworthy Table Service

1900 Park Fare: I just didn’t feel that this buffet had that many options. Also, if you want a salad, it seems tucked away in the corner. It took me my second time to the buffet to find it. If you want to see Cindy or get a special desert, this is the place to go. The character interaction nice and in the hour we were there, the mice and prince charming made it around twice.

Le Cellier: This is one of the few places where you can get a smoothie as your beverage on the dining plan. For a table of two we were right on top of the table next to us. My steak was okay, but not the best I have had. I found that the steaks I get from Omaha Steak Co. to actually be better.

Boma: While eating here I didn’t think it was that great, but in hindsight they had a lot of options. It was twice as big as 1900. I am a picky eater and still found food that I liked.

Buses from OKW: If you want to be close to the Hospitality House, request the Pensilular Road Bus Stop. Plan on it taking an hour to arrive at your destination.
