Hi
We just received our Magical Express booklet and tags today. I read the instructions and had a question.
In the "Before You Leave Home" section it says under item 3 to "retain the baggage claim tickets provided to you by the airline when checking in at your originating airport. You will need to present these at the Disney Welcome Center".

I don't remember our airport (Milwaukee) giving out baggage claim tickets. Or do airports give them and I've just never noticed?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Nowadays, the "baggage claim tickets provided to you by the airline when checking" are stickers. The agent (or skycap) at your originating airport will usually stick them onto one of your boarding pass jackets.

Normally, you don't have to do anything with those baggage claim tickets. I've never had to show them when checking in at the Magical Express counter at MCO — the DME agents have simply asked me how many bags we checked.

Anyone who wants the DME inbound baggage handling but doesn't receive the DME packet with the yellow routing tags will need to provide the airline baggage claim tickets to the agent at the Magical Express counter at MCO.

Also, if the airline misdirects your bags (regardless of your destination airport or whether you're using DME), the baggage claim tickets are very useful for tracking your bags and being reunited with them.
