I know that US Air is not a "participating" airline with ME and that we will have to retrieve our bags from the coach when we arrive at MCO and check them in at the desk. Since we must leave WDW 3 hrs in advance, does the ME drop off at each individual airline or do they just make the one stop at the ME desk on level 1 and we must get our bags to level 3 to check them in?
Also will someone at CB resort desk be able to get our boarding passes printed out there for us or should we just wait till we check in our bags when we get there?

It does NOT matter what airline you arrive at MCO on...every single airline allows you to tag your checked bags with those yellow DME luggage tags at your home airport. Then, when your bags get to MCO, they will be pulled out, before they ever get to the public baggage claim area, and put on trucks heading to the various WDW owned resorts. So..you do not need to get your own bags, unless you want to. But I can't imagine why you would want to spend the time waiting for your bags to arrive on the baggage claim belt, then lug them down to the next level and bring them on the bus with you, which will mean tipping the driver, then tipping whomever brings them to your room at the resort.
Just let DME take care of your bags..they will arrive in your room within 3 hrs of your checking in at the resort. Bring whatever you need for the first half day of your vacation...change of clothes, 3 oz. toiletries, travel documents etc...in your carryon. Then, you should be fine.

For your return to MCO, yes, you will be picked up in the area of 3 hrs before your flight departure. The bus may stop at one or two other resorts besides yours. When you get to the airport, the bus will make a stop on each 'side' of the airport, on the bottom level (they are not allowed on the upper levels due to size). Then you will have to get your luggage up to the baggage checkin level and head to security.

As for getting boarding passes, that's something I haven't had to do with that particular airline. But, I'm sure someone here will have the info you need.

The ME bus has two stops at MCO when you are returning home, the A side and the B side. The bus driver will announce which airline are on each side so you will know when to get off the bus.
.
Each resort has a concierge desk, they will be able to print your boarding pass for you when you are at the 24 hour timeframe.

US Air is in the testing phase of being a participating airline. For our return home we did check our luggage & get our boarding passes at our resort. We stayed at the Poly which was one of the resorts participating w/this testing phase - I'm not sure about the other two. I think it was WL & AKL - not sure- I'll see if I can find you a thread on that.

I think the Resort Airline Checkin booth at any of the resorts can print your boarding passes along w/Guest Services in the parks. I read this on a SW thread & someone informed me that GS in the parks will print them - the 24 hour timeline is big w/SW.

Before US Air announced they would be testing out the RAC, we always just checked our luggage curbside - theres plenty of agents waiting curbside to help. I'm not sure when you're going but maybe US Air will be pleased w/RAC and become a participating airline by the time you go. Good luck.

Thanks for all your help. I've been to MCO several times but I still get confused. Leaving Wednesday from Philly with son, daughter-in-law and grandkids...looking forward to a much needed vacation.

Just wanted a quick correction on one thing JJ&Jsmom said, it is not the Resort Airline check in that will print your boarding passes, it is the guest relations or concierge desk that will. When I was there in Oct. the people working at resort airline check in told me they can only print those for participating airlines (I used a participating airline, but b/f had to use non participating).

He was able to get his printed at the concierge desk with no problems...and quicker than I got checked in at the resort check in desk..haha.

Here's my big question ...

Since you will have to check your luggage in at the airport anyway, what possible advantage is there for you to get your boarding passes 24 hours in advance??? You will already have seat assignments, in advance. So with USAirways, what advantage or convenience are you hoping to have by getting your boarding passes 24 hours before the flight???
