How does ME work with a split stay/two reservation trip? We are checking into the BC on a Saturday with a one night reservation, checking out then back in to the same hotel as our Free Dining package begins the next day. We will have two reservation numbers. Hows that going to work?

We have a similar situation and what they did was to associate the arrival flight with the first reservation and the departure with the second one. I just received my ME booklet/tags yesterday, and they came in two separate envelopes, one with my first res. # and flight in with luggage tags and the second with our second res. # and flight out (no tags in the envelope). Hope that helps!

After you get there, re-arrange your DME trip back to the airport to go with your final checkout.

If you use the yellow tags that came for the second stay, say you didn't have enough from the first stay, then:
(1) Draw a line through the resort name (if different) and date and write in the first resort name, and,
(2) Bring the stubs and paperwork and booklet for that set of yellow tags with you.

So very wrong!!! The OP has two different reservation numbers. If they crossed out the first resort and then put those tags on the bags, who knows where they would end up. The reservation hasn't started yet, so when the bar code scanner is used, it will show up as invalid!!!
Just toss out any addtl resort yellow tags.

If you get to the DME counter, vs being sent directly to the bus lines, you can have them put in the correct departure info at that time. Or, you can just wait until you checkin at that resort, and then have DME added for your return ride to MCO when you are checking in.

Psst! The written in resort name and date and/or the "invalid" readout on the scanner indicates that the baggage is deserving of kid glove, er, white glove treatment!

And it is almost a no-brainer to get that baggage where it needs to go.

We had this same thing happen. There weren't any tags in the envelope associated with the second reservation, so no confusion there. We didn't have to do anything while we were down there. I used the vouchers for the first part of my stay on the way to WDW and the second set of vouchers for the way back to MCO. We didn't have any problems at all.

Yup. I called reservations and they made my ME a "one-way" with my arrival flight and a "one-way" with my departure flight. She said I would get the correct information on both sets of tags/booklets. She said it's very easy and no big deal! Thanks for all of your information!
