ME and luggage

On the WDW website it says International guests pick up their luggage, then go though customs. Then you give your luggage back to the officials and you can either pick it up yourself or have the ME pick it up and have it delivered to your room.

Does anyone know how you get the ME people to pick the luggage up? We have always taken it to the bus ourselves but if they will do it for us and deliver it to the room that would be nice! But I cannot figure out how they would know it was there as we do not get sent any bag tags or anything.

You put the luggage on the second belt and they get it from there. You give them the slips you got at checking in and a description of the bags. It can take up to three hours for your bag to arrive in your room.
We have not done it but we asked a while back and that's what we were told. Personally I would just rather have them with me.

magical express - it now states 4 hours from check in at your resort for luggage delivery.

Personally, wouldn't want my luggage going round on the carousel waiting for Disney to collect it.

I'm taking ours to the ME bus. I don't want to be hanging around waiting for it to arrive.

Thanks everyone! I think I agree. Easier to just take it with you yourself! Must be nice for US residence who can tag their bags from check in! I wish virgin would make some arrangement like that.

It would still take the same time for your bags to get to the room though.

True! I guess I could put some things in my hand luggage so the long wait doesnt matter. Its more the thought of the bags going around the carousel for a while that worries us!

Yes that's what I always do with a change of clothes for each of us. Yes the idea of my bags being left going round worries me as well.

wasn't so bad when UK guests got the pack with the luggage tags in but now that we don't get them until we check in at the DME desk there is no choice as far as I'm aware to do anything but take your luggage with you. Certainly that is the impression we got the last two trips

Yes me too! Will see if this is still the case ( excuse the pun ) on Friday when we fly
