Hubby just told me that he is planning a trip for us solo in May for our anniversary. I went to WDW for the first time this past May and loved it.

Any suggestions for traveling on our own?

My wife & I are taking our 2nd "mom & dad only" trip in Feb (Our kids are in college). We also took a trip to Disneyland sans kids. You will love it! I think it's either Birnbaum or Unofficial Guide that has a "WDW for Adults" book you may want to read. A couple things I would suggest are to enjoy some dining options at one of the resorts or World Showcase. Another is a behind-the-scenes tour. We did Keys to the Kingdom in '02 & are hoping to get a Segway tour this trip.

We do the two thing most of the time. We love it. We can set our own pace and make our own decissions. We do not have to worry about a thousand potty stops, or I am hungry, etc. We do a lot of the tours and have really nice sit down dinners and relax. We can add a day on if we like, or just do what we want to do. We love to sit and people watch, Really we like to children watch. It is so nice to watch the expersions on the children faces , It is really nice just to take your time and see everything you want, when you want, and how long you want.

Go and enjoy each other and the parks and have a great time just the two of you.

DW and I will be going solo for the very first time in Sept '05. (special trip for 25th anniversary.....otherwise DD and DS would not stand for it, haha!!) We are very much looking forward to it. I'm already planning some of the out of the ordinary things we will be doing and I have some nice surprises up my sleeve.

Go and have fun!!::yes::

We generally go solo now as we are old empty nesters with grown kids and grandkids...But sometimes they will plan trips at the same time we do.

I suggest you try and do somethings that your kids would not enjoy or get fussy during and enjoy the adult attractions. See some of the movies, ride some of the rides the kids do not like or not big enough to go on yet....:sunny:

We also like to do a few good dinners and one of our favorite things to do is stake out the rocking chairs in MK and people watch..so much fun and very restful....have fun...:sunny:

We are planning our first solo next Dec (05) for our 25th anniversary. I'm already making a list of the things I want to do. I want to try an Illuminations Cruise and several sit-down dinners in EPCOT.

Since our sons are all grown up we've been solo for about 9 years and love it!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

BUT we now have a beautiful baby granddaughter who is just 9 days old and I'm already planning a trip for her in the future!::yes:: princess: ::MinnieMo

My DH and I went on a solo trip this past Sept/Oct (I think my in-laws are still recovering from our 4 kids, 2 dogs, and 2 cats...) . We had a wonderful time!!!

Our most favorite activity was the Segway tour, hands down. Very fun!

We also went to Cirque Du Soleil and Pleasure Island (DON'T sit by the phones along the wall at the Comedy Club--we were the laugh of the place that night, long story :teeth: ).

Have fun planning and going on your trip!

I recommend the Segway Tour. Just did it on Sunday. My inlaws came to Disney with us and they watched the kids on Sunday while my DH and I did the tour. We both LOVED it and we spent the day at Epcot alone at the Food and Wine Festival. Although I missed the kids, it was so nice being with my husband alone and just relax for a day. Enjoy!
