This will be the very first time that I have ever went anywhere like this alone and I will be taking the 2 kids to Disney. I was wondering if you think it would be safer to stay in a hotel or would we be ok staying in a villa. We usually stay in a villa but then again its usually my mom and dad and nephew, my hubby along with me and the kids so...............
We're staying for 15 nights so it would be cheaper to stay in a villa but im concerned about the safety.
I have other things that I was going to ask but my daughter is in a chattering mood and I cant think right now so I guess this will do until later on.

Villas are plenty safe...

And, you wouldn't be the first mom tripping it alone with her kids there :upsidedow

I guess it would depend on where you are thinking about IMO. I tend to feel rather (probably too) safe at WDW but there are places I feel better about than others.

I would feel safe at a DVC villa (is that what you mean?) but I'd rather be 2nd floor or above in that case.
I feel safe at the Swan/Dolphin and that is probably my resort of choice when I go it alone with a child (or even just my mom and I).

Enjoy!!

I know Im not the first mom tripping it alone but its the first time this mom has done it alone. Sorry but Im a little precautious.

We usually stay in the Lindfields area and we've never stayed onsite but Ive been thinking that I might feel better onsite this time. But it would cost more and when I checked the reservation system it said that there was a maximum of 14 days.

I would definitely stay onsite. I'm sure off site is fine but I would not feel safe, myself. Anywhere on site is better than off site esp. by myself. JMHO.

I'd stay onsite as well. You can stay more than fourteen days, just make another reservation. The transportation will be easy staying onsite, it's convenient, good security, EMH's. It will be great!

My husband feels like onsite would be best too. That will probably be the way I go.

If it is just you and the kids, onsite would probably be better. Just being so close to everything, if you buy something being able to have it sent to your room, having the bus stops, etc. will make it much easier for you!

My dd & I have gone 2x, and we're going again this summer. We've stayed at AKL, POR, and next up is BC. We've always felt perfectly safe. I like to stay on-site. ME takes us from/to the airport. WDW buses, boats, monorail takes us around the parks.

You'll have a great time!:thumbsup2

I've gone alone with two kids and there's no way I would stay in 1 room for 15 nights with two kids. I would be crazy, as would they.

I've stayed at Bonnet Creek, Marriot Horizons, and Cypress Pointe alone with my kids and have never felt unsafe. And this is from someone who sleeps with every light on in the house when the husband is away.

I have to agree. 15 days in one room would be the deal breaker for me, but I guess it also depends on how old your kids are. Mine are teens, so that pretty much says it all!

I would definitely stay on-site to feel safer. Personally, my girls and I have never had a problem sharing a hotel room at WDW and there are 4 of them plus me (we did have an adjoining room with my sister both trips to accomodate the 4 per room max, but they spent the majority of the time with me and we had some great times in the resort rooms). BTW, they are ages 10, 12, 14 and 16 and do get on each others nerves of course but it was nothing major.

We'll be sharing again at POR next year and can't wait! Have a great time with your DDs!! :goodvibes

I would stay onsite. How old are your kids?
Although when I was thinking of staying longer than our trip this time (dh would have had to leave) I was thinking I would just stay at Bonnet Creek for the week. But I have 4 kids.
