MDE or TP lines app?

Comparing the posted wait time on attractions I have been seeing that the TP lines app is about 5-10 minutes higher than what is on MDE. Who is the most reliable? I would assume Disney would have the times synced with the app but just wondering.

From what I have seen looking at Disneyland (local to me), it appears that the official app shows the wait times as posted, while TP shows the true amount of time you are likely to wait. Both are obviously best guesses, but TP seems to be more accurate to the actual amount of wait time than even the posted times.

I am guessing Disney World would be the same, but I won't know that until we go in June.

I like the TP lines app if a lot of people are using during the day and posting actual wait times. Its only as good as the live data posted to it.
Generally, I find it to be more accurate.

Part of Disney’s crowd management strategy is to inflate or deflate listed wait times as an attempt to disperse crowds more evenly, so posted wait times aren’t always correct whereas Lines has the real-time waits.

Ya, that is true. So I will keep TP as maybe more accurate.

Disney will inflate times posted and on the app at times. Nothing is truly perfect but I like using the TP lines app.
