We are taking a multi-family trip this fall. It will be the first trip that one of my kids has their own phone. There is a good chance he will take off with cousins or other family members. For him to be able to use LL and scan for photos and such, what is the best method? Do I download the app on his phone and sign it into my account or do I set him up his own account? If I set up his own, how do I get his existing account to link up to it correctly? What have others in this situation done, because I am confident this happens a lot.

You must be at least 18+ to set up an account. This is where you would have to set it up on her behalf.

You do not need to be 18 to have an MDE account. I thought it was 14, but found a Disney post that says it is 13.

Back when my youngest DS was 13, we had him download the app and set up and acct with his email. I then had him send me the code so we could link as friends and family. I’m pretty sure I then deleting the acct I previously managed for him. In response to being 18, yiu have to be 18 to purchase LLMP, not set up an acct as previously mentioned. I would let your 13yo have their own MDE acct. if they’re responsible enough to have a phone, I’d TJ ink they’d be responsible enough to have their own MDE acct

At 13, DS’s converted over to an individual account. Disney IT was able to get it fixed so that DS was linked. I completely forgot about the account we had setup for the Play Disney app to use in Star Wars land.

DS doesn’t make any plans but we needed the app on the phone to get the updated account in the Apple Watch as DS has sensory issues and doesn’t like the magic bands.
