Just venting.... LOL I need to vent to some people who will understand my frustration!

So I set up My Disney Experience.. cool it's mostly all good. My DVC reservations are showing, my dining is showing... that part is great.

Here's my issue -- I had been setting up my husband and the application froze midway. No biggy I thought as when I signed back in he was there. I go to link him to my reservations and low and behold he's set up as an infant! His birth date didn't get registered. I of course didn't notice this initially. I tried to delete his account that's made under my sign in and it won't because he's linked to a reservation. I try to unlink him on the application -- there's no option to remove the linked traveller under my account. ((He doesn't use the app so it's not like I linked to his own account.))

This is making me pull my hair out!

My concern is I don't know if this ((the fact they placed him as an infant)) will cause any conflicts once the arm bands are in use. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and call long distance to get this sorted out.

And to add insult to injury I can only access the MDE website on my tablet, I get errors when I try on a computer... I don't know if that's because I am in Canada or not. I can only access the old planning page via the web on a computer from here -- don't get me started on that. LOL

I had a similar problem -- I already had a MDE account set up with all the travelers on my reservation, but when I made a change to the reservation and tried to relink the DVC reservation with my MDE account everything got messed up. It created a generic avatar for my son because the MS person who made the change to my reservation spelled his name incorrectly and it wouldn't match to the one I made and THEN it gave my FIL my son's avatar. You can't delete the avatar if it's linked to a reservation. I actually called MS and the DVC IT/help-with-website number and got the same response: the only way to fix is to cancel the reservation and rebook, being careful to appropriately match the avatars to the individuals in your DVC reservation (which isn't happening since I got the room/view I wanted for my trip and I don't dare try to rebook).

HOWEVER (before you panic!) I was ASSURED that choosing fastpass times and using MDE for dining reservation linked to the bands wouldn't be affected. I just need to add the tickets and dining reservations making sure they match up with the correct avatar. So in your situation, I would create a new avatar with the correct age and then try to link them? Honestly I am so frustrated by the whole thing. I'm not sure that would even work but I thought at the very least you would know you are not alone.

I would like to add that I would just call MS or the help-with-all-things-tech/website line. Maybe they have worked out the problem and can actually help you out (ha ha ha ha). But seriously, it is crazy that you can't make changes once the reservations are linked to an avatar. Post a reply if they can fix it now -- I'm willing to call (again) if it will fix things for me as well.

I mean cancel your reservation --- UM NO. I am not going to cancel my DVC reservation -- that's simply ludicrous! I know Disney IT is joke but that's asinine to think the only way to link some profile on a program is to delete a whole reservation- what in the world were they thinking. Truly. Sometimes I wonder who Disney actually hires in their IT department that they think this is acceptable???

I did create a correct one to link to dining but I want the correct one linked to the resort... is that too much to ask for? :rotfl2::rotfl2: I SO wish I had noticed before I linked that the age got messed up! I partially blame myself for trusting everything was set up correctly.

BTW did you call DVC member services or the 407 number MDE gives you to call if you have an issue?

Now -- I doubt we'll prebook fast passes, we don't travel that way.

My DVC reservation shows two adults. I find it odd it accepted an infant to be linked if they are not on the reservation...

I have a split stay and can't link the second dvc stay. I've tried several times but it doesn't link. Gives me an error message that the confirm # doesn't match their records! Ugh! I can link some dining reservations but not all! So I share your frustration!!!

It says on your profile to change any birth dates you will have to call.

This Guest's birthday cannot be changed online. To update this information, please call Guest Services at (407) 939-7765 for assistance. Guests under age 18 must have parent or guardian permission to call.

The site seems to be acting up today. I have tried making dining reservations & it has said down for maintenance or server error. Even sent me to old site once. Very weird. They must be having some technical issues today.

Now that you ask I honestly can't remember. I THINK it was the DVC number following the prompts to the IT support. I was so frustrated over the whole thing it has fogged my memory. I may have called the MDE number as well. I also couldn't believe canceling was the only way to fix the problem -- no way. I know my DVC reservation is correct, but I'm type A and it just really annoys me that it is incorrect in MDE.

OK my husband's account was finally fixed earlier this week. I received an email from IT and low and behold he's finally an adult! PHEW

They essentially had to internally cancel and hold my reservation, remove him and add him back with a new account they generated and release my reservation again. ((To say I wasn't nervous hearing this is an understatement!))

Nothing is ever easy with Disney is it? LOL

Now there's no saying MB will even be in use for our vacation in Sept but at least everything is in order.

On a side note, I've seen the photos of screen shots people have been putting online and sadly purple isn't a colour option. :(
