We got 2 grey boxes from Disney last week for our Feb trip. ONe had a flash drive for our 2 nts at GFV and the other a flash drive for our next 2 nts at BWV.
Both were about MDE.
I went on and linked our ressies and AP's and picked our MB colors. There was a fridge magnet in each box with info about when I can book FP+. It tells me I can book DEC 10 for the GFV ressie that starts FEB 8 and 9th and DEC 12 for the BWV ressie that starts Feb 10 and 11th.
Anyone know why the booking time (DEC 10) is the day after we check out of GFV and (DEC12) the day after we check out of BWV:confused3.

We received 3 boxes in the mail on the same day for an upcoming one week trip. What a waste of money and packaging. I wish they could realize the reservations are for the same people even if the resort is different. We will be getting 3 more magic bands too!

Hey, free reusable flash drives. Don't scoff at that!

What dates were yours sent for? I believe the magnet on the back of the pamphlet should show that. It's an interesting question that many have; what dates are they being sent for.

I'm using the current "get a MB for every reservation" to my advantage so I can get almost every color. Once all of them reach me (likely this week) I'll have all but yellow. Might as well have some fun since this is what they are doing right now.

yea that seems so strange. It's not the packaging waste I'm concerned about, but the fact that in this digital world (which what MDE is supposed to be about) that they can't link ressies on one set of bands.

It's more of a hassle for me to remember which band I should be wearing at what day of my trip.

The bands actually do all link up. We received one set for a trip in October and another set for a trip in November. We used the October bands while on our November trip without any issues. It is a little bizarre that Disney is wasting so much money/time/effort on sending new MB's to people that already have them. The MB's are suppose to last for 3 years. To me it is very much a waste.

You can use any at any time and they all link to your MDE account which is where your info is stored.

Right now, during testing, they are sending them out for each reservation. I doubt that will continue. So since there's nothing I can do about it, like I mentioned, I'm taking advantage of it. Having some fun.

And I'm reusing the boxes in my home and recycling the bits of the flashdrive's outer packaging that I won't be using. :) If you don't want to do that, well, the world is funny and I bet that an empty MB box could be sold on eBay for some amount...

Too bad I never use EBAY - I have 6 flash drives so far for my various trips in the next few months. I have one trip with a waitlisted day in the middle and a 'just in case' room booked - that gave me three for just that visit.

Which raises another fast pass + concern.....I can now book my 60 day out fast passes, but will the last days disappear if my wait list comes through and I am able to link my whole visit into one room???

When I personalized mine I added three letter abrev for resort so I would remember.

That's what I was told as well that during testing they will send out for each resv. We are doing a split stay so lots of band colors!

So.....what's with the flash drives? I just got back on Monday from BLT and I didn't get any Flash drives with our bands. I didn't even use them...we used our old ones from our August trip. What do you do in Disney with the Flash Drive?

the flash drives don't come with your MBs, mine came in a box inviting us to us FP+. When you used the FD it shows you what do to to set up MDE.

I wonder if they (FD) can be reused?

I've never sold on ebay either. Hmm, maybe craigslist? Meet another disney fan at a local coffee shop. Get 50 cents or something for the box. :)

You really don't need to keep track, though. I currently have 5 in my possession. They'll all work.

We got the flash drives for our reservations starting 1/7 and 1/8. Not for our reservations starting 1/4 and 1/10. They weren't being sent out for reservations starting anytime before the 5th or so, most definitely.

YOu do nothing with them at the parks. You just watch the little videos "hosted" by The Incredibles' Edna Mode, if you didn't already watch them on disneyworld.com. It's how to use MyMagic+.

Yeppers!

I reformatted one of mine, so it's all empty for reuse. Alas, that takes away the cute icon when I plug it in. I did NOT reformat my other drive, just created a folder for the Disney stuff and a folder for whatever I want to put on it (DH advised against this, so I just won't put anything vital on it in case it's less stable and crashes because I didn't reformat it). Easy!

I got three of these for 3 different scheduled trips... We only plan on taking mayyybe 3 of the 3 but this is a waste of $$ and not very environmentally friendly...

Got for a 1 night trip in February, 1 for a 2 nighter in March (will will likely be cancelled) and another for 2 nights in May...

Seems very wasteful...

PLUS< one of these trips is a surprise in addition to a Disney Cruise Line trip... These boxes and packages are quite obvious...

It looks like you can book Fastpass+ for day of arrival + 10 days, regardless of when you check out.

We received our flash drive yesterday for our trip in May. Staying at BCV May 16th to the 23rd. The magnet is a cool idea.

Why is Disney sending out flash drives? I like the idea of a new magnet, though. Our trip is this month, so we got magic bands but no flash drives or magnets. Is this a 2014 thing :confused3?
