MDE and WDW App Room Reservation Glitch?

We’re hopefully staying at the BWI, but now I don’t know what to make of it now. I originally booked a waterfront room because it was the only type of room available for our stay there at the time. Yesterday, a garden view room opened up, so I called reservations and got our room changed to it. While a waterfront room is nice, we think we’d prefer a garden room since it would hopefully be quieter at night. Plus, it saves us a few $100’s with the lower cost room type.

So, late last night and this morning, I checked MDE and it shows that we have 2 rooms booked, one of each type, all on the same confirmation number. To make matters worse, the app shows that we have 4 rooms booked. Has anyone had this happen to them? My main concern is I don’t want to argue with them about paying for an additional 1-3 rooms. Also, I’m leery about them canceling our entire reservation when I call in a day or two to get it fixed.

Any insights would be appreciated.
 
When are you going? If you aren't within any type of cancellation period, I would give it until Monday to see if the "ghost" rooms fall off the reservation. If they don't, I would call and ask what they see on their end. If they see what you see on the website/app, ask to get guest services involved so you only have the garden view room booked.
 
We are going 10/22 to 10/27 at BWI. The CM said to expect to receive an email with updated reservation info in 24-48 hours, so hopefully it gets corrected then. I will wait to Monday before doing anything.

FYI don’t expect to see an email. If it comes it a happy surprise but if it doesn’t don’t be concerned. I’ve gotten one less than 50% of the time and I modify reservations a lot. Ghosting isn’t uncommon, I wouldn’t worry yet. Did you try checking the website via a computer or just your phone?

I’ve checked the website on my iPad and computer. The app on my phone and iPad. They’re still showing either 2 or 4 rooms reserved. I’m not too concerned yet. I just don’t want to loose anything (FPs, dining reservations, etc.), if the glitch causes them to cancel our room reservation. Oh, and everything has been paid and the modification was done later.
 
This happened to me. I called and the CM said it was correct on their end and couldn't figure why it was showing that way. It stayed that way until I actually arrived on property and had a room assigned. (The correct type) No problems with extra charges or holds

Thanks! I’m planning to call on Monday to make sure everything is good. It’s good to know that everything worked correctly for someone with the same problem.
 
UPDATE.

I called reservations and was initially told we had our original room type booked. After I told him I had changed our room type, he contacted guest services and found out our changed reservation was saved in one system but not another. They corrected it and we now have only one room showing up.

So, if you have a similar problem, do call to confirm your reservation.
