My 4 yr old daughter and I were flying down to Orlando to meet up with my husband while he is on business. While he is working the first day we were going to try and go to the Magic Kingdom for the day. We are not able to use ME, so I am looking for the cheapest and easiest way to get the 2 of us from MCO to the MK.

Thanks for any help!

You're pretty much going to need to take a cab to the Contemporary, then walk over to the MK. Cab will run $50-60 plus tip.

If you will then need to go back to the airport, it will be double that.

If you are going to need round trip, I would suggest renting a car at the airport. It's not as easy as taking a cab both ways, but definitely cheaper.:)

I only need a one way trip. My husband will have a rental and I am hoping he can pick us up from the MK, or TTC, if not we might try and meet up at DTD. Do the shared ride vans not go to the resorts since ME service is available?

If you try to request a shared van ride on Mears from MCO to the Contemporary, it refers you to ME. Not sure about other companies.

I went MK direct (TTC) to MCO & it was $65 plus tip by cab. I don't think Mears will take a shared van onto disney property (parks or resorts) because they offer ME, but maybe if you call & explain they will have a suggestion for you. You might be able to find another shared van service, but I'm not aware of any.

Don't make a Mears reservation; just walk up to the Mears ticket counter. They will send a van or bus to a Disney's resort then if that is where you want to go. Cost is about $19. per person one way.

You can't get from Magic Kingdom (or any theme park) to Downtown Disney without transferring somewhere. (You could walk to the Contemporary (about 12 minutes) as the first leg and take the DTD bus from there as the second leg).

Driving from the outside to the MK pickup area, choose the second or third toll booth lane from the right. Tell the attendant where you are going, then drive on and bear right at the big fork. Then left at the first allowable light and the pickup/dropoff area is on the right. Leaving the park you need to take the monorail or ferry to the TTC.

you could take mears to Swan/Dolphin and hop a bus to MK from there...If you can't get mears to take you to contemporary.
