Hi, my wife and I are going to WDW in Dec, and are trying to decide how to get from the airport to All Stars Movies and back. What would people recommend. $50 for Mears, or Taxi (Can't find quotes, so we don't know how much) or towncar? We don't mind paying a little extra for more convenience. Thanks

I second the rental car, cost is comparable, or less, offers more flexibility than your other choices.:)

I used Tiffany Town Car and I felt extremely comfortable! I was alone and worried about my safety but they were fantastic Ask for Daniel or Darcy! Both men were awesome!

I agree, car rental! It gives you more freedom to do what you want and go other places! :)

I've done Mears, Tiffany and car rental. We have been getting a rental car lately, I've been able to watch National for good rates and get one for under $120 (Emerald Aisle, w/Disney Club discount & coupon). If you don't want to rent a car, I woud go with Tiffany. It's nice to have the driver meet you in baggage claim and take you straight to the resort. Their cars are luxurious. Mears will put you in a van with others and may stop at other resorts first, but they will be the cheapest. I don't think a taxi is a good choice, you will be on the meter and you will pay extra for any traffic delays.

One of our "things" to do at WDW is not rent a car. We used the town car on our last two trips and were extremely pleased. It ran about the same cost as Mears and well we like to be spoiled!!

We like the convenience of renting a car too! Sooo, much more convenient. We've never regretted our decision.

We always use Tiffany and have never missed having a car. I don't feel like I'm on vacation if I have to drive anywhere.

This is the way we do it:

If you are on a strict budget, it is more cost efficient for 2 people to take Mears. It is about $50 round trip for two people plus whatever you want to tip. I usually tip about a $1.00 per bag with Mears.

If cost doesn't matter, then take the towncar. Much much more pleasant and personal. You will also get to your resort much quicker. The downside is that is cost allot for just two people, around $80 round trip plus we tip about $10 each way. So the total comes to $100 for a towncar.

This December we are trying something new, renting a car. We are staying at All Star Music (but hoping to find availability at Movies). The car will give us the freedom of going off-site ocassionally for groceries or dinner plus driving to the parks if the buses should be over-crowded.

The Mears cattle car ride is not for us. Our first trip to WDW we used Mears. After an hour wait at the airport to board the bus, it then took us 1-1/2 hours to get to our resort. Naturally we were the last stop at the Contemp. We have since then used Tiffany and have been at our resort in 30-45 minutes. TTC is excellent.

Welcome to DIS!

I voted for a Towncar, but I also prefer a rental car.
